OUTSTANDING!!
This stuff is fantastic. Works like a charm to thin your paint and extend coverage. Just be sure to mix it exactly as recommended because it is potent. Excellent value and if used properly, it will last a very long time.

Great for thinning out thick paint
Works really well for paints that have gotten really thick and hard to work with. Just be careful because if you use too much the paints wont be as opaque

This Flow Aid Transformed My Painting—But With a Twist
With acrylic painting, I thought I'd seen it all. That was until I tried Liquitex Flow Aid. At first glance, it seemed like just another medium—clear, watery, and unassuming. But when I mixed it with my paint, the results were nothing short of transformative. The Flow Aid worked wonders, making my paint glide effortlessly onto the canvas. It reduced brush strokes and allowed for smoother blending, giving my artwork a polished, professional finish. Colors became more vibrant, and the flow was impeccable. I was thrilled with the outcome. However, as the painting dried, I noticed something unexpected. The areas where I had applied paint mixed with the Flow Aid appeared more transparent than I had anticipated. While this added a layer of depth to my piece, it wasn't the uniform opacity I had hoped for. This experience taught me an important lesson: the interaction between Flow Aid and different pigments can vary. Some colors, especially those that are naturally transparent, may become even more so when mixed with Flow Aid. It's crucial to test the medium with your specific paints beforehand to ensure the desired effect. Despite this minor setback, I found the overall results to be impressive. The Flow Aid enhanced my painting technique, allowing for smoother application and more vibrant colors. It's a valuable tool for artists looking to improve their acrylic painting process, as long as you're mindful of its impact on paint transparency.

A Must Have!!
This flow aid had been a game changer that I never knew I needed! Lately, I've gotten into paint by numbers and often times the paint is quite frustrating. Sometimes it's too thick, clumps/dries too quick in the container...or worse, the container comes not all the way closed. Using the flow aid medium (4-5 drops) per PBN pot/container brings the paint to a lovely, smooth consistency without compromising the color or opacity. It makes painting soooo much easier and more fun because the paint simply glides smoothly across the canvas. This also allows for more precision. It is clump free. And because the paint goes on smoothly and evenly, it dries with a more pleasant, professional appearance. I decided to try this product out 3/4 of the way through this PBN and I wish I would have tried it sooner! Adding water to the paint just sucks in comparison. My only recommendation is getting a pipette which will allow you to drip drop the flow aid medium into the small paint pot with accuracy. I found trying to squeeze drops from the bottle a bit troublesome between it dripping down the nozzle and accidently adding too much due to extra drippage and spillage.

Can't work without it
How much do I love this stuff? I live in the Mojave desert. Using acrylics here is often a race against time. I keep this stuff in a diluted state in a small spray bottle next to my pallet. I mix in a few spritzes with the colors I'm using and often give the brush a spray before starting. When things start getting draggy I'll add another spritz to the color and possibly the brush too. When I'm trying to blend something and it's drying out, I will even spray it lightly directly onto the surface of the painting where I'm working. I like being able to control the flow rate and consistency with little spurts from the spray bottle. This stuff and Golden OPEN acrylic medium greatly extend my working time and keep the paint in a workable consistency.

A must have for paint by number!
I like doing pbn but sometimes the paints are so thick and/or dried out that they are difficult or impossible to use and using water to thin them down wasn't always an option. After doing some research this product came up repeatedly so I figured I'd give it a try. Game changer! I've been using it now for awhile and warrants all the praise people were giving it. Definitely worth having it on hand if you do pbn!!!
