No more burned leaves on begonias, plants are getting a chance to re-root without wilting, my living room, no longer goes into the high 80’s. I can sit on my patio in daylight & still clearly see the birds at the feeder. Flies aren’t getting in my house. Unfortunately, at my condominium I had to use the hooks that were there, which meant poking holes through the binding trim. BUT for a week it’s held, with winds, while I recover from my granddaughter’s accidental Mother’s Day gift Saturday. Then, it is as simple as new grommets around those new holes. Better still, there are existing grommets all the way around. I can also use black outdoor tie cord to create a shade-fold pull up system and tie it off. I’m just wondering when I’ll want it up, ah, a rainy day. Even a breeze beautifully comes right through to coo my home in the morning. But the shade cloth barely waves in the winds. Something as simple as one of the extra large fat clips for large clumps of paperwork, like buying a home, is enough to hold one side in place wen dropped in a sturdy place. The extra rolls up on the concrete patio and unrolls easily without disturbing the grass or the HOA, w/o a sound. I dare say I love love love this shade cloth and the quality. I’ve already given it a a little rough time, and so did a bird because I didn’t know to look to see if a small song bird was hanging out on my shade cloth ;-O Now you know too highly Recommended for flowering and leafy vegetable plants in direct sunlight.

This did what I expected/hoped with blocking some sun off my plants. The grommets and border around it seem to be pretty good. The fabric itself if very lightweight and airy. It snags on everything so you have to be careful. My only disappointment is that the fabric is not taut enough within the borders. While we had the corners (borders) nice and tight between our posts, the fabric itself sagged quite a bit and with every tiny breeze, it floated up and down significantly. When it rained, the fabric sagged even more from just being wet. Perhaps it's because it's only 50% blocking and because it's such airy fabric, it's not something you can pull tight. If this is OK with you, then this is a good, cheap tarp. I'll continue to shop for something I can pull tight. Until then, it's protecting my plants nicely.

Holds the sun out good shade

I got a greenhouse this winter & am still learning how the temperature fluctuates according to the seasons. Yesterday, it was in the high 90s and the temp hit 146°F in there, which is a tad bit hot. I draped the shade cloth over the east, west, and north sides and secured by hooking the grommets on cup hooks. The south side has the door and is shaded by a deciduous tree most of the day, so I didn't cover it, but I did drape it over the automatic vent without issue. It was 102°F today in the high desert of NM, and while it still got hot in there, the temperature was reduced 30 degrees with the use of this shade cloth. It isn't the most attractive look, but it seems to help & I will be able to keep some heat tolerant plants in the greenhouse even during the summer. I will probably buy some more shade cloth to try over an outdoor garden next year, since even sun loving plants can't handle the desert summer sun here at 5000+ feet above sea level. It seemed a little cheap and plasticky upon opening, but as long as it does the job I can overlook that. As you can see in the picture, I had tried hanging tapestries inside and an old tattered flag outside to block the sun, but those options didn't work (the 146 temp included those measures).

This produce has an attractive price. I seriously doubt it will last one season. The gaps between stitching is wide. In fact, the stitching runs 1.2 cm apart, while the ones I was buy run 0.7 cm apart. The ones I was buy usually can last one summer season. That's why I seriously doubt this product is going to make it through the summer. I'll use it in some way, but will need to buy something else for most of my plant shade.

Just the right size to block out the bogans next door

We put this on the front wall of the greenhouse because it gets all the afternoon and evening sun. It is doing great at keeping it much cooler and protecting the plants.
