Delightful illustrations accompany this heart warming book of a boy, his faithful dog, a snowy day and a trek through the snow, and a good book.

Love the illustrations and what visually appears to be the story, fun winter story of a boy and his dog spending a day outside, climbing hills, sledding and enjoying a book together... Really wanted to like this one.. but the writing in my opinion is off, and doesn't seem to be particularly connected or engaging. I had a hard time even wanting to continue reading it to my kid because it didn't seem to really be telling much of a story. Feels awkward to just keep calling the kid in the story "the Reader".. when 90% of the story isn't about him reading anything. Lovely images though, just wish it could get a re-write.

Bought for my grandson who is a beginning reader. It’s a sweet story and the pictures are wonderful.

If you have a beginning reader who is NOT interested in reading, or is not making enough progress in reading, then this is the book to read them.

Great illustrations and a very sweet story that celebrates reading, friendship, and perseverance. This book is a keeper you’ll want to share with others.

I bought this for my daughter who is a 2nd grade teacher. I hoped she would like it and use it in her classroom. And she likes it VERY much! The illustrations are beautiful and the storyline is great. And a big plus is that Amazon included a very detailed lesson plan on the order page! I know the children will enjoy this book immensely. Very good deal!

Cute book for a very young child. The dog and the child experience winter delights while hiking in the snow.

Ollie- I liked it because it was funny And it was about two best friends..because I'm your best friend.Dad- I liked it because of the fellowship and innocence shared between a boy and his dog on a beautiful snowy day..the sled was cool too.

Gentle story unfolds with enough variety of pace when reading loud, and footprints for little fingers to follow (though have to be clean for the screen - special treat reading on grandma's kindle!). Potential to do a made-up story to fit in "The Two Good Friends" if you want it a bit longer.

Loved the simple story. Evokes the special bond between aboyand his dog. The simple things they do together . In the snow then safely back home. An adult less world that is totally uncomplicated. Just dog and boy. Beautifully illustrated. A book to keep rereading. Lovely

How nice a book is the reader showing the friendship between a boy and his dog. The story and drawings are absolutely wonderful. I shall enjoy a lovely time reading and looking at the pictures with my grandchildren

I feel the book is a little intense word wise for my young grandchild more suitable for 5 to 6 year olds who have started reading themselves

Nice little story and so easy to read through - good illustrations and I also liked the way the words can be made to stand out so that they are easier to read.
