Satan Speaks!

This book is good it has a lot of dark humor and essays. And also forwarded by Marilyn Manson.. this was Anton Lavey’s last book he wrote before his un-timely departure from this world.. if you like all of his other books Get this one I know you’d like it Shehamforash HAIL SATAN

If you like Anton Lavey's other writings, you'll most likely enjoy this book as well. If you've never read an Anton Lavey book, I would recommend starting with a different one than this. There is nothing wrong with "Satan Speaks", but it is hardly his finest work. I personally would recommend starting with the "Satanic Bible", or "The Devil's Notebook". I feel they are superior books and have far greater insight into the mind of Lavey. "Satan Speaks", although enjoyable, feels like it was just put together with leftover material from earlier projects. This book really doesn't expand upon what's already written in the "Satanic Bible", nor does it have the humor and charm of "The Devil's Notebook".

Here LaVey offers his opinions on a wide variety of subjects including social politics, sex, personal hygiene, social conventions, and life in general. Here he presents his opinions often with tongue in cheek humor. Some of his essays are utterly hilarious. Yet, he is often quite serious.LaVey hated pompousness, arrogance, and self righteousness and all throughout his writings he rips into these with a visciousness and rage that could only come from the devil. Having a high opinion of oneself is one thing, but that form of counterproductive, haughty self righteousness was what he hated most, what he called "The Goodguy Badge."His essay on stereo was interesting, "Stereo, Scam of the Century." When you read this essay, you might find yourself saying, "Hey, he's got a point." They introduced stereo not to improve the quality of music, but just to sell more record players and playing systems. And how many people really know the difference between a stereo recording and a mono recording of a piece of music anyway? Most of the time they are standing or sitting too far away from the speakers and not between them to even notice the difference.I myself prefer stereo since I usually do actually sit between the speakers. But I am quite different from most people. And sometimes I have actually noticed that some music really does sound better in mono than in stereo because the sound actually does tend to blend together.Reading and laughing at his essays, I often think, "He's got a point. I've seen that myself."Agree with his opinions or disagree, you will have fun reading this book, and learn a few things from an old carny.

If you are looking for a book to further your grasp on LaVey's Satanic philosophy, this book will fall short of your expectations. But, adversely, if you're looking for a good read into the mind of the man himself, then this book is perfect. He rambles. A lot. But if you're a fan, I say go for it. 🤷🏽‍♂️

When I read this book, for some reason it makes me think about Anton packing his bags and saying "I'm done here." Especially the first few essays, when he talks about the apocalypse and how it's exactly how Christian America made it to be. I'm not sure exactly what this thought means, being as I don't believe in an afterlife. Perhaps his death was a departure from reality and then his vitality was transformed into our fond memories of him.Mr. La Vey was a very opinionated man and this work reflects that. It's as casual as a book can ever be and is funny too. I especially like the essay on how he dislikes music played in stereo rather than with a single speaker. I swear, he's the only person I've known who dislikes stereo. I own the Satanic Bible and have read it many times, despite being scared of it when I first bought it. Of all the books Anton wrote, I would give this one to people who are interested in Satanism but don't know where to start.

I've only just cracked it open and by the second essay I was feeling elated! This promises to be some of LaVeys best work. Upon reading "To: All Doomsayers...etc." I found myself getting more and more emotionally charged with each sentence. Nodding vigorously in agreement and say "yes! Yes!" With each statement. By the end I was practically jumping up and down and shouting "YES! HAIL SATAN!" I can't wait to get through the rest of this. So far, it's much better than the Devil's Notebook.

This literature is written in a way that will reveal the truth, by reading this book it will explain and show the truth. Natural psychology at it's best, the author - a Doctor of psychology understanding. I would highly recommend. If you want to know the actual truth of a mental thought processor (the mind) at work, then here lies the tool that will show you the answers to realization.( When an entire society is a small group, it is called a cult. When a cult grows big enough, it is called a society. Both are rigidly conformist. The first requirement of either a cult or a society is obedience to its rules, conformity to its principles )Life is for the living. Death, too, is for the living. If you are fascinated or entertained by death, make the most of it while you're alive. When you really are dead, it won't hold any interest at all.

My favorite! I am satanist, official member of Church of Satan. I like this book better that previous one The Devils Notebook and Satanic Bible. I recommend reader to get first acquainted with philosophy of satanism on Church of Satan official website after which I recommend reading this book first, then Satanic Bible and then The Devils Notebook. Absolutely awesome. Reader is granted with a lot of good, interesting and rare facts, nicely told curious stories and very advanced concepts of philosophy, human god and Satan.

Satan Speaks is a great book IF you are interested in Satanism.Satan Speaks is a wonderful book IF you are interested in alternative/dark humour and the writings of somone that will speak their mind in a cohesive and engaging manner.If you are a Satanist, an Atheist, a Fetishist or just someone that wants to read something fun or different, then I would personally suggest that you give this book a read. And if you like it, then you can have a look at the Devils Notebook too.5 Stars, a great read in my opinion.

Brought it for the mrs. She’s a bit strange but it kept her quiet.
