Be aware! The product is a piece of JUNK!!!
Update; I have to return ALL of them!!! This is the largest LEMON I have ever ordered! One did not even work on arrival, the second one stopped working after a day and I lost my fingernails - and patience with the third- the replacement. I urge Apple to revisit carrying this product or be associated with it! It's a shame! Maybe the design is great but the final product is a piece of JUNK!!! My previous review is here: Ordered two, one is defect, needed to return it! The other seems to work fine - so far- BUT, if you expect Apple like experience, you will be disappointed. The unit has all the elegance of a Soviet T32 tank combined with the sophistication of a Bavarian Weissewurst, which you may want to consume go gather strength to open the unit! Opening it to place or replace the batteries requires strong fingernails and extra patience!!!! Maybe the design is fine but the manufacturing process needs MAJOR improvement/refinement. Will see how long it will last! Apple, do you still endorse this product???? JUNK JUNK JUNK!!

Great Automoated valve - Needs a Thread device to connect to Apple HomeKit
I bought this to automate watering in a new garden bed. I wanted something that would work with Apple HomeKit. I previously bought some Eve magnetic door switches to monitor doors in the house. I could see those from my Apple Home and used them to trigger alerts on my phone. What I found with the Eve Aqua was that I could activate it from my phone - so long as I was within Bluetooth range. It would show on Apple Home, but only when I was near the Aqua with my phone. I read up a little on Eve's website and suspected my Apple TV was not new enough to Support thread. A conversation with Eve's tech support confirmed that. The other thing I learned was to be able to connect to HomeKit, you must have a non-battery powered Thread device to communicate with the an Eve battery powered thread device on the Thread network. I added an Eve Energy outlet switch and that did the trick. It talks to the Aqua and relays to the Apple TV. HomeKit is now happy. So it you want to automate the Aqua with your HomeKit, make sure you have compatible Thread devices to enable that communication.

Sturdy & Responsive!
This new Eve Aqua is perfect! The water pressure to the front of my Dad’s house is incredibly high, so the older version of the Aqua kept falling off (due to the plastic threads that attached to the spigot not being strong enough). This new Eve Aqua is very sturdy and now has metal threads that keep it locked tight on the spigot with no problems. We’ve tested it out for over a week now and it’s still on there tight. Besides this new Aqua looking a tad snazzier than the last version, it’s also much more responsive due to the built in Thread technology. The button on the front works immediately, and using the app/Siri has also no delay as well. We are looking forward to hooking up my Dad’s sprinkler system and setting up a watering schedule so he doesn’t have to crawl under the deck every time he needs to turn on the water. At 60 it’s getting a little more difficult for him to keep crawling under there, so this is incredibly convenient for him! (PS: we’re using the old Aqua on the back of the house with lower pressure and it’s working perfectly back there with no issues!)

Great Idea, Unreliable Execution. Dead Seedlings Say It All
I really wanted to love this product but the concept, while great, has been nothing but disappointment. It worked through one summer season in New England (with many glitches and issues) then I stored it over the winter. This spring, I tested it for two days before leaving on vacation and it seemed fine. But while I was away, it failed completely and I lost all my seedlings. Save yourself the heartache and spend a little more on something reliable. A product like this is only worth it if you can actually trust it and unfortunately, I can’t. You’ll end up losing far more in dead plants than you saved on the device itself.

Not worth $150!! Maybe $30.
Product does work as intended. And doesn’t leak. But why must you restrict us on how we use it? You see I use this for a different application than water sprinklers for my lawn. Which in itself is an insanely stupid thing to do. It should be illegal to waste water on your lawn like that anyways. (Ppl stop being so damn vain. You probably think this review is about you about you about you.) lol. I saw this and thought (since my water comes into my rv using a garden hose) that I would be able to use it to mitigate water problems such as broken pipes. So I bought the Eve Water Guard to detect drips or breaks which would send a signal to the Eve Aqua to shut off the water if it did. (it’s not very intuit on setting that part up btw so I have yet to figure that out) But I ran into a problem due to limits imposed by eve. You can only have Eve Aqua run for 4 hours max. Then it’s shuts off the water supply. What??? Let’s think about this eve. I’m guessing you put four hours as the maximum amount of time because you feel like that anything past that is a waste of water. Again what??? Four hours by itself is a waste of water for sprinkling your lawn!! Anything more than an hour and a half probably would be wasting water in my opinion and that’s still a long time. I digress. Your 4 hour limit really f***s me. I couldn’t even make it through the night sleeping before it shut off my water. This was a problem for me because at night time it is very cold and the lines are highly susceptible to freezing which I mitigate by leaving the water drip. And it can’t drip if it’s been shut off. So then when I wake up in the morning I have no water because it’s off AND frozen . Yes I have found a way around that by using their schedule in the app but it’s stupid. I had to set it up to run for four hours, turn off for one minute and turn back on for four more hours, turn off for one minute and turn back on for four more hours etc. and now since I’ve set up the schedule I have now negated the whole reason I bought this thing in the first place. For example. I won’t be back to My RV for a few days. A pipe breaks and starts leaking water everywhere. The Eve Water Guard sensor catches it, sends the shutdown signal to the Eve Aqua which it does exactly that. Well because I was forced to use the stupid schedule now what will happen is that eventually the schedules is going to tell the water to turn back on. And we’re right back to having a big a** leak. So yeah. if anybody else out there is thinking of using it like I was you may as well go to a different company. Because Eve is stupid and thinks that it’s OK to waste water for four hours on your lawn but not OK to leave it on 24/7 at your rv. Oh and it doesn’t even actually measure the amount of water going through the Eve Aqua. It asks you to estimate how many gallons per minute flow through your water system which of course is easily affected by how open or closed the spigot is and then just goes off of that. It knows it ran for 10 minutes so it multiplies that by the number you said of how many gallons per minute flow through your spigot. Again what???? For $150????? What???? Eve. If you’re listening. Push out an update to remove the stupid 4 hour limit. Otherwise the reason I bought it in the first place, to protect me, is not gonna happen.

Generally reliable but often fail
The mechanical older generation of these were better. The new version less effective and break quickly. Eve tech support is a joke and a run around. If no other option to pair with the HOME app then this is the choice. Otherwise try Rachio. Plus these are way too expensive.

Slightly weird set-up, but so easy to use
I found it weird that I had to use the Eve app to install the Aqua, but once I did, it was super easy to use; this one will now keep our bird bath full all summer long by creating a water fountain for a few minutes each afternoon (or on demand)! I do wish there were a power source option other than AA batteries. Update: this device has been a joy to use all summer long—on the same set of AA batteries. We’re getting ready to winterize, but I look forward to setting our water fountain up in the spring again, and we’ll be using this same gizmo next year too!

Worked for a few hours.
Edit: Contacting Eve product support is brutal. Slow unhelpful responses. Looks like this unit is going back to Amazon. I really wanted to like this product. I did a lot of research before making my purchase. I understand that defective units can happen but when customer support is this bad I can’t support that type of company or their products. ———- This setup quickly and worked perfectly. This morning I went to check that the schedule had run the it was totally unresponsive. I’ve removed and changed batteries and I can’t get it to do anything. Can’t add it back to the app. Button on the front does nothing.

Defective Product
Don’t buy! The Eve Aqua device leaks and it doesn’t function well with Apple HomeKit. Product support is also non-existent. The Eve app is garbage too. Update: I have been communicating with Eve “customer support” and they’re universally unhelpful. I have received more than one message requesting the same exact information I provided to them previously. They’re favorite “solution” is to reset the Eve Aqua (something I have done multiple times). I have 20+ smart devices connected to my HomeKit and all of them function well. The Eve Aqua falls far short of doing what their advertising claims it does. Now they won’t accept the return of their apparently defective device. EVE AQUA DOES NOT HONOR THEIR WARRANTY.

Works Well, Too Expensive!
This product works really well, no issues with the app or leaking! The only issue is that cost as it could be much lower.
