**4.5-5 Stars**This is book two in the ‘When in Rome Series’ it was a brilliant, cosy and hilarious read. I enjoyed it so much that I found myself re-reading chapters for the fun of it.Rome in Kentucky seems to be filled with a bucket load of hilarious characters. I also recommend adding the audio I laughed so much about this town and the people who get so much into your business.This for me pipped book one as I fell in love with Annie, she is the youngest sister of Noah from book one. There are 3 sisters and she is the one who owns a flower shop and virtually blends into the background. Her Sister in law to be Amelia is a pop star and has requested her usual bodyguard Will to be with them leading up-to and including the weddingAnnie has never had a good date and the one she is on is no different. She is not used to saying much and cannot find the words to connect with him. Yet, she finds it so easy to relate to Will but believes he is out of her league. Will hates commitment due to the upbringing he had with his parents and their serial cheating and constant arguments making his and his brother’s life hell.There are so many laugh out loud moments and Amelia her sister in law to be spots a spark between the two. So she comes up with a plan to get Will to be Annie’s practice date, the idea is that Will has to show Annie where she is going wrong and give her tips ………Both think of it as a bad idea and then all the fun begins. What a hoot and I absolutely loved how Annie came out of her shell and how Will wrestles with himself that he will never fall in love trying to convince himself that he will finish this job and leave the town by keeping Annie at arms length. I just sat back and enjoyed the journey with the outrageous busy bodies thrown in lol

This was such a sweet, comforting and feel-good romance. I really enjoyed Annie and Will together — their chemistry was lovely from the beginning, and I liked how their relationship slowly moved from friendship into something more honest and real.Annie was very easy to root for. I loved seeing her realise that she did not need to become a different version of herself to be loved, and that the “perfect” relationship is not always the one you imagine for yourself. Will was also a great romantic lead: protective, charming and a little guarded, but never in a way that felt too heavy for the tone of the book.The small-town setting, the banter and the “practice dating” set-up made this really fun to read.My only small issue is that I would have liked a little more depth in some moments, especially around Will’s fears and what both characters had to overcome. But overall, this was a warm, cute and very enjoyable romance that left me smiling.

This was my second Sarah Adams book after reading The Cheat Sheet and the vibes were very similar. There was a lot I liked about this book (hence the 3.5 stars) and it did keep me turning the pages (especially the second half), but I had a few niggles too.Will's character is great and I liked his development. Annie's realisations were great too and seeing her character strengthen was lovely.I didn't like Maddie and Emily for quite a while. I had a bit of Cinderella vibe going on with them. They just didn't seem to care about Annie that much. It was only towards the end I warmed to them.Grandma seemed quiet an important person in Annie's life, but then she doesn't really appear. Only once and she is asleep.Noah's beard... It wasn't until about 50% in I realised he had one... Maybe I missed something.There were a few typos which bugged me. How did proof readings and edits not pick these up... I know I'm probably being pedantic, but the one that bothered me the most was "could care less". It appeared twice and it doesn't actually make sense. It's couldn't care less.The first 30% of the story just felt really young to me, but then the last 20% is very different. I liked the depth that emerged.Towards the second half I did laugh out loud at bits a number of times and some bits made me quite emotional too, so brownie points for that.All in all I did enjoy this book and it was easy read.

I just finished this a few hours ago and needed to post the review. This was just so cute and such a good standalone romance!It was fun, lighthearted, filled with swoon worthy moments from the get go and there's a fair amount of character development that is deeper than you'd expect from a lighthearted romance.Both the FMC and MMC have their own insecurities and troubles that they slowly overcome, not just as a pair but individually as they figure out what's going on between them.The banter and tension between the MMC and FMC had me squealing and there were some truly relatable moments from the FMC that had me truly laughing out loud.I don't usually read these sorts of books but it was just so great that I just may have to pick up some more!

Less dangerous too.”This book was PERFECTIt hit home, it was beautiful, breathtaking and heartbreakingly real.Something about small town romances just fill a hole in my heart. Add in a bit of fake dating / teaching and it’s perfection.Annie and Will have my heart. It felt like reading about my best friends, my siblings, my family. The broken and true feelings that these two experienced just touched me.I’ve never felt a book hit as home as this one in a while. Annie is me. I am Annie. even down to the nickname AnnaBanana , mine is HannahBanana. The escape into the books is real, the trying to be the golden child to keep out of the way. We are one and the same, I mean even our first tattoos are similar 🥹I’m not even remotely done with this bookSarah, you are a mastermind

Loved Will and Annie and the relationship between them developing. Liked Annie's siblings and future sister-in-law the story was sweet and the happily ever after was cute. Will teaching Annie was funny in places and romantic and Annie teaching Will a few things about his feelings was good. The town people were nice too. Read it in two days and will reread again. Enjoyed it very much. Noah and Amelia were in the book as well as Will is Amelia's bodyguard and we met him briefly in first book which I loved. Have bought this book in paperback also. Look forward to the next trip to Rome

I've had this on my TBR for months and finally got around to it and it did not disappoint!!!Annie IS the sweetest FMC ever but she's so sick of being told that. And after her date calls her boring, she enlists the help of her brother's girlfriend's bodyguard to be her dating coach, to help her be less boring.Will isn't interested in anything even remotely like a relationship but we just know the minute he collides with Annie he's a goner.Their will they won't they relationship plays out as Annie and Will both figure out what they want from life and from each other.This isn't a spicy, romance, it's a really slow burn, with Will being sensitive to Annie's need to take it slow and Annie holding back, afraid she has already fallen too deeply. However, even though this is very much a closed door romance, you can feel the passion between Will and Annie in every look, every touch that they share.This is honestly one of the best books I've read all year and I can't wait to read more from this author.

This was even better than the first one! I was so excited to read this book based on all the positive reviews I had seen for it and it truly did live up to the hype. It was such a sweet story to read and watching Will and Annie become friends, trust and lean on each other while falling in love was such a precious thing to witness.I was happy this wasn’t the typical ‘guy teaches girl how to date’ storyline; Will made it very clear from the beginning that he didn’t believe Annie needed to change, nor would he help her do so. He helped her find confidence in herself, which was beautiful. Watching Annie's growth is amazing; she truly finds herself in the end, and she trusts in her dreams and wants enough to follow them.I loved Will, he never pressures Annie to be anything but herself and loves exactly who she is; quirky girl and all. I loved how he truly saw Annie, how many times he smiled because he knew exactly what she was thinking and being the first person to know she wasn't this innocent, shy girl necessarily and that she wanted to be something more and had something more within her. Will seeing her was amazing and truly made you believe in their love story. Annie also sees Will and helps him with his issues, which just gives more depth to their relationship.I’m excited for the next book in the series following the oldest sister (the teacher) and to continue seeing the sprinkles of the past couples in the next books; want more of Annie and Will! I loved Noah and Amelia from When in Rome, but they don’t have anything on the beautiful relationship that is Annie and Will’s.I am also excited for the other sister's book and I’m so happy she decided to follow her dream - she’s gone for two years but after that, I’m excited for her the trope Sarah is setting up for that one!
