The Cramps Classic 1996 Flanders Performance From Belgium and from AmsterdamRenowned throughout their career for B-movie horror imagery, frantic guitar riffs and lewd onstage antics, The Cramps remained at the forefront of the psychobilly movement right up to the moment of their enforced exit from the music business, which had continued across three decades. By 1990, their album Stay Sick had gifted them their only Top 40 UK single, with ''Bikini Girls With Machine Guns'' reaching No. 35. After the departure of founding drummer Nick Knox, the band enlisted Jim Sclavunos - later of Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds - to release ''Look Mom No Head!'' in 1991, which also featured Iggy Pop on ''Miniskirt Blues.'' They followed that record with ''Flamejob'' in 1994, which saw Lux and Ivy share sole production duties for the first time, with assistance from former Elton John, Beach Boys and Runaways engineer Earle Mankey. While continuing to release strong and often classic albums, The Cramps remained at their best within a live setting. This CD contains two such performances, both the subject of live FM radio broadcasts. First up is their entire show from Lokeren, Belgium on 12th April 1996 which features a wide array of numbers from across their entire catalogue. Following this is their show from the Jaap Edenhal, Amsterdam, Netherlands on 9th March 1990, which is interspersed with fascinating interview material with Lux Interior and Poison Ivy.

The Cramps - 'Hanky Panky' (Zip City)
Good portion of this CD is from a radio FM broadcast - a live 2006 gig in Belgium - not 1996 as noted on the CD's cover. Tracks that I got the most out of were the frantic opener "Mad Daddy", "The Way I Walk", "Hangup", the rocking "Big Black Witchcraft", "It Thing Hard On", "Primitive", "Let's Get F***ed Up", "TV Set'", their cover of Count Five's "Psychotic Reaction", the inspiring "Wrong Way Ticket" and "Tear It Up". Notice that the last handful of tracks on this live disc are from another radio FM broadcast of a show they'd done in Amsterdam, Holland on March 9, 1990 - I'd really like to hear that show in it's entirety., Another live Cramps archived recording to thoroughly enjoy.

Fantastic album
This is awsome. I wondered whether this live concert was available on CD and it is! After buying the CD I then wondered whether it was available on DVD - and it is! The DVD is brilliant. It makes you feel so good watching it thanks to such an incredible performance. I am envious of anyone who was actually there, it must have been incredible. It is a must for anyone who enjoys The Cramps. Both the CD and DVD are a real tribute to the band putting on such an incredible live performance.

Gute Show. Falsches Datum
Guter Sound.
