M1 GARAND .30 Assembly, Disassembly Manual

It's okay. Used in conjunction with a video on a DVD that I received from the Civilian Marksmanship Program included with my M1, I was able to disassemble, clean, and assemble my rifle. I'm pretty sure that if I had only used this book, without the video, that I probably would not have been able to reassemble the weapon. It would be much more useful to me if the illustrations in the assembly portion of the maintenance section showed a bit more detail.However, to be fair and honest, the only other weapons that I'm familiar with disassembling and assembling are the M-16 assault rifle that I was issued in my Army days, and my Sig-Sauer P-226 9mm pistol that I bought after I left active duty. A person with more familiarity with this type of weapon might find this book to be sufficient to get all of the parts back into the bolt assembly, which is what I had the most trouble with.

I bought this book when I was having some issues with my M1 Garand. There's a number of reviews that go either way on this book but overall I found it to be very helpful. I did have to use this book along with watching a YouTube video at the same time for disassembly though. It's a great book to have in the collection and is very informative! I may buy additional books in the future for other firearms in my collection.

I ordered this manual for my neighbor who used the M1 Garand rifle during his enlistment in the Marine Corps in the early fifties. He said this manual has detailed instructions for disassembly and maintenance and is more thorough than he expected. He was not sure the average person would ever disassemble their M1 Garand down to the stock assembly with all the assorted parts and screws. It does, however, also allow the user to see how to do a minor disassembly and provides part/drawing numbers to check your rifle's authenticity. Great manual and the price is right too. Item arrived promptIy and he would highly recommend this item and seller.

Everything you need to know in order to take care of your M1 Garand. It’s sort of a cheap “copy” of what I’m assuming is an actual manual. But, it’s exactly what you need if you want to clean or replace certain parts of your M1. Well worth every cent you pay for this manual.

This is a very detailed booklet that gives all the needed information to tear down, clean, and put weapon back together. The only way it could be improved is if it identified field stripping levels of cleaning from complete disassembly. With my military background I can determine this with few issues, but someone not as proficient in weapons may have a difficult time determining what must be taken apart with what may be.

I am new to collecting the M1. This book has detailed instructions for disassembly and maintenance and is more thorough than I would like, as I am not sure I would like to take my M1 down to the screws, stock assemblies and all the assorted parts. The average person will never disassemble their rifle to the level shown in this book. It does allow me to see how to do a minor disassembly and check part/drawing numbers to check my rifles authenticity and for this it is invaluable.
