Reliable and quality silk.
Great silk silver filament! Been my go to for several projects. Im on my 4th or 5th roll and no clogs, breaks, tangles, etc. Very reliable for a silk. I've read others run their printers on the cooler side to get a nice shiny finish but I've found if I run mine at 230°c at 100mm/s .4 nozzle it prints well and leaves a nice shiny surface. Even at .2mm layer heights the finish looks nice and smooth. Color seems consistent between rolls as well. Great color for Buckeyes helmets! Js It wouldn't allow me to attach pix at this time but I'll update later.

Very shiny!
This is the first metallic filiment I've tried, but I'm pleased with the results. The filiment sticks well, it doesn't smell while printing, and when fishised it has a nice glossy sheen that makes it shine when you turn it! I've included pictures for those who may have more experience with filiment to see it in action. While a bit of a silly example, I needed to replace parts of our toilet paper holder and this was the filiment I had in at the time. The white was a standard, non metallic filiment - you can see how much shinier the silver is by comparison. The dragon head is a piece I've sanded. Sanding seems to dull its shine somewhat, but that might just be my methods, or lack thereof. It still reflects light quite nicely! My only note is the color is a little dark for most metals and the bottom most layer comes out looking different for me. I just orient my print with that in mind. Great filiment, will be buying it again!

Prints like normal PLA. Shiny but a little darker than I was hoping for. Nicely wound spool
First I should point out that the filament is wound on the spool in a very nice and uniform way. (I appreciate this, some filaments are not wound like that and look like a mess) I have used some shiny (silk) PLA in the past that has some strange qualities. What I mean is that certain silk PLA filaments I have used in the past give the illusion of sucking the extruded filament back up into the nozzle. (only when extruding way over the bed) This filament does NOT do that. It seems to print a lot like normal PLA. It does have a shine to it, it is a bit darker than I had hoped for. Not as dark as a black chrome but darker than chrome by just a little bit. It still looks very nice. I tried adjusting the temp to see if that had a big impact on the amount of shine. It did not appear to have as much impact as it did with other filaments I have tried. In a way, that makes this more flexible since the finish isn't dependent on a temp, I can use whichever temp I want and get similar results. I do like the filaments that change sheen with a temp change though because I can get different looks with the same filament. My printer is tuned in pretty well so I am having success with about every filament I try. (mostly highly rated filaments from Amazon but also some MicroCenter stuff) I filed and sanded a piece that was not fitting into a companion piece and it doesn't look terrible. Sanding and filing PLA can make it look terrible with some filaments. With this it just ended up being duller than the rest which actually isn't even very noticeable. Overall, I like this stuff. I might go for a brighter silver next time. If I wanted this exact color I would buy this again though.

Great filament - slightly odd printing setup
I really love the way this stuff prints! It's really smooth and the finish is very cool! BUT it did take a little dialing in to get it to work well. Specifically - this stuff likes to be cooled immediately. Take a look at the attached video for an example. The first segment shows a manual extrusion, no fan. Note how it self-retracts and is a bit rubbery. The 2nd segment is same length but 100% fan. Acts more or less like what you'd expect! Typically with PLA you print 1st layer no fan and subsequent layers with fan, but I'm finding more consistent results by printing all layers with 100% fan. Something else that is really nice about this filament is it handles supports really well. They are easy to separate and the surface is really nice at the interface. All in all this is a really nice filament if you're looking for that "metal" look.

Lowest Temp (190C) = More Shiny
LOWEST TEMP = MORE SHINY. This filament prints much more shiny at 190C to 200C despite that it says you can print up to 230C. After a heater temp failure, I accidentally discovered that it becomes a dull gray as you go higher in temperature. You want to print at the lowest printable temp for the shiniest silver. (See photos) Please note I did not measure the temp at the nozzle with a meter, so it may be slightly different for your setup. Additionally, this stuff is very sticky (wants to shrink back on itself) unlike other PLA, so 40C bed temp was not enough, but 50C seemed to keep the large prints from warping up on the edges. Glue sticks could have helped as well. Cooling fan on high is a must for small prints. If you print a 1 inch test cube without a fan, you’ll see the entire cube walls moving around. The two cubes in the photo at 210 and 230 had the fan at 10% for the first half of printing, and they look bad for that half. Cooling at 100% cleaned that up. Also, adding an inline filament dryer (Thordsen) while troubleshooting this cleaned up the small imperfections in each layer.

Great appearance, challenging to print
I bought this filament for one of my projects where I wanted to have a chrome/stainless steel type look. I gave this filament a try because the reviews seemed okay enough and the price was right. It is packaged well and sealed just like any other filaments I've used. Unfortunately it took me 5 attempts to get my first successful print due to the thermal expansion this filament. Normal filaments (hatchbox, prusment, amazon basics) extrude a small, constant diameter the size of the nozzle. This filament extrudes to that size and seems to expand as it cools. This caused several clogs on my printer (prusa mk3) that almost never has any issues. I "fixed" the issue by adjusting my temperature a little lower than normal and turned the fan to 100% per suggestion of another review. Even after these adjustments, I caught my printer about to clog 13 hours into a 16 hour print. I really would like to give this filament a better rating because it does look amazing, but unfortunately it seems it is not similar other PLA filaments, requires a lot of adjustment to get working properly, and cannot be trusted for extended prints.

Fantastic Filament
CC3D is my favorite brand of filament to use. Never had any issues whatsoever due to the quality of the material, and its always a much more affordable option compared to other brands. If i could give more than 5 stars i would.

Silk Silver PLA, great filament!
I am on my second roll and will have to buy another for my current project. For what I needed this was perfect, it looks like machined aluminum. It might be too dark for other projects but for this one it is just right. No issues at all printing and I did not have to re-calibrate when switching to a different brand
