Great for the price.
This little thing works for me perfectly. Yea it has little suction but wen you connect it to your vacuum beaker or whatever, if you let it run for a little (not even 5 minutes) the suction becomes super strong. To prove it. Connect to vacumm beaker. Place your palm over the top of the beaker making sure no air can get in and watch how strong it gets in a matter of seconds.

Super
Exactly what I wanted, very small, comparable to two cigarette packs stacked on one another, just enough pressure draw, practically silent and I like that it comes in a nice little case and with a gasket on the end of the hose to make it easier to take on or off of your instrument, I’ve broken filters trying to get the hose off before, but I doubt I have any need to worry w this!

It works, but isn't that powerful.
It works, but isn't that powerful. An aspirator would probably be a nicer choice, however this is portable. Takes a bit of time to filter stuff with a glass frit vacuum filter. I think it's basically a slightly more powerful fishtank air pump, but backwords.

Worked OK for a while, but then broke after not too long
I used this for a little bit, and only used it to filter solvents that I thought it could handle, as it's almost entirely made out of cheap plastic and very thin rubber. After not too long, it stopped working completely. I took it apart and the substandard plastic/rubber valves that control the vacuum stopped sealing completely.I tried to fix it myself, but honestly, it was just a complete loss. For $40, it should be able to last a while. It was more expensive than a vacuum water aspirator and water pump combo that I thought it could replace. Bad decision.

Use with alcohol
I use this to filter isopropyl alcohol. Conserned about safety, I opened up this unit to see what kind of electromechanical devise is used to create suction. This unit uses a bellow driven by an electromagnet operating on the 60 hertz power input so there is no motor and this unit does not create any kind of spark internally or otherwise making it perfectly safe for the aforementioned task. As the maker or seller it is understandable they disclaim it for this use. Works excellently

Not a very strong pump
Kind of disappointed with this product. It was getting suggested with literally every buchner funnel, filtering flask I was looking at even large ones. This thing is not meant for large filtering applications. If it is my pump is diffective because it hardly had any effect on my 90mm buchner funnel and 1L filtering flask. It really did not go much slower when I turned off the pump.

Makes great cold brew coffee with the right filtration apparatus and fine lab filters.
Been good to me so far. I use it with ultra fine filters and a vacuum filtration flask system to make cold brew coffee - the vacuum pressure seems to get better extraction from the coffee, much like using direct pressure does in an espresso machine.

That's amazing when it's pulling C60 through such a fine filter
This is a powerful filter! I'm making C60 and I'm filtering it through a milipore filter. This pump filters 500 ml in about 1 minute! That's amazing when it's pulling C60 through such a fine filter. A really nice surprise!

Zero quality Beware DNB!
Somehow I managed to buy 2 of these....and there both garbage....one lasted for 3 quick one minute sessions, the other made it 5 mins.....plastic nozzle that u connect the hose to snapped off on the first one and the second just doesn’t suck, but there both garbage....cheap aquarium air pumps that have been doctored and sold to unsuspecting buyers.....why amazon peddles this garbage is beyond me
