Worked perfectly on 6' tall cedar fence gates
When my fence was built (recently, it's less than 3 months old) the builder made some custom gates out of the pre-built fence panels. What they didn't do was add any sort of bracing or reinforcement. They warned us the gates may sag, and it didn't take very long for it to become a problem. The gates weren't latching, they were dragging on the ground, and they made the fence look a bit shabby because the sagging was very obvious.I was a bit hesitant about these, because I'd only seen the cable-based systems and didn't think they were that great. I saw some positive reviews about these gate braces and decided to try them out.The hardest part of the install was getting the metal self-tapping screw to actually drill through the metal bar, but I take that as a good sign because the metal isn't thin-walled junk. I was able to do all of it myself, with some tool handling help from my 4 year old.I thought for sure they would help, but wasn't sure how much because of the custom install of the fence panels as doors. I am honestly amazed at how well they work given how easy they were to install and how well it looks like they will hold up. They even give you 5 extra self-tapping metal screws for future adjustments, so I'll update this review if I ever need to adjust it in the future. My extra saggy, dragging on the ground gates now function perfectly. They swing all the way open without touching the ground and the braces seem to be very well built and supportive. They even function as an extra handle on the inside, which is a nice bonus. I like them so much I bought another set to do my other gate and I plan on installing them ASAP.These work so well because they make use of the strongest hinge bracket to support the upper top of the extended portion of the gate. This puts a lot of the weight on the bottom of the support post, which is the strongest part of the gate. Because of the geometry, I expect these to hold up very well in the long run. I will make sure to update this review if I have any issues.

So fast and easy, I couldn't believe it.
This product is amazingly simple to mount, instantly corrects any gate sag, and is very well made.I have been trying for 3 years to 'save' an 8' picket fence gate that was improperly mounted to begin with, and was sagging so badly that it could no longer be opened. Gate wheels, racking the hinges, nothing worked. Standard turnbuckles were not supportive enough, as this is a very heavy gate, "old school" if you will, when the nominal wood sizes were 1 5/8 X 3 5/8 rather than the 1 3/8 X 3 3/8 they are today. Anyway, it arrived promptly, and the instructions were so short and clear, I was thinking there was no way this would work. Lo and behold, less than 20 minutes later, my gate was hanging straight and true. As an over 50 single woman, if I can do it that fast and easy, so can you. I do offer a helpful hint if you are installing this alone, as I did. Instead of using a shovel or other fulcrum to rack the gate, I used a 2 ton hydraulic floor jack, it's easy to rack the gate up to where it needs to be, and it is much more steady while you mount the brace. All in all a perfect mount, and a straight gate. And isn't that what we all bought this for? :) I would give it more stars if I could, and I highly recommend it.

Easy to install (with power tools)
This took about 1/2 hour to install, and requires two people and a power drill (especially for the self-tapping screw). However, it's not complicated and works well. The gate is made of crappy wood and has a cable anti-sag brace...which obviously didn't work. The gate started falling apart, despite the constant and creative adjustment to the cable. Between a few brackets, to reframe the fence, and this anti-sag brace, it's better than new. Definitely worth the purchase.

It worked on my gate
I have to say that I was skeptical that this product would work to fix my sagging gate. I have a gate on my deck. It's made of composite decking and is 51 inches wide. As such it is heavy and has always sagged on its hinges. This year the sagging became so pronounced that it dragged on the deck. I began looking for products to fix this. I ran across this product on Amazon. It seemed more substantial than the turnbuckle option so I decided to try it. The enclosed instructions were simple enough to follow. I also viewed the video on installation on the product website for additional clarity. I found this more helpful to see an actual installation step by step. I am a female of slight build. As such I found it helpful to have a friend help with the installation, simply to hold up the gate with the shovel while I installed the screws. The whole process took about 15 minutes from start to completion. And it worked. I was amazed. I am not sure how well the product would work if one needed to raise a gate more than about an inch. My gate only needed an inch and it worked great. If you are dealing with a sagging gate I highly recommend trying this product. It is adjustable to fit just about any size application.

... 3 stars is that the video to install is easy to watch and helpful
The reason I give 3 stars is that the video to install is easy to watch and helpful, but the package came with no screws; I had to go to the hardware store to find the right size. Also, the brace was outside of the plastic package and the instructions were crumpled into a ball at the bottom of the entire package. Unfortunately I may have received someones returned package.

Works well and easy to install
This works pretty well and was easy to install. The product requires both a top and bottom crossbar on the gate because the brackets are L shaped (not flat) so they need something other than the slats to attach to. This almost certainly won't be a problem for most since gates typically have crossbars that are offset sufficiently from the slats. You'll want to install brace such that it is attached to the bottom crossbar near the hinge and attached to the top crossbar away from the hinge. The reason is because in this orientation the brace will be pushing against the crossbar with the L bracket itself taking the load instead of the screws used to attach the bracket. There are self tapping screws that you put through the center holes of the brace. Use a drill on medium speed to screw them in. It will eventually pierce the center bar and go through. This is all easier than it sounds.
