Fluid absorption depends on electrolytes levels. Yet, current Oral Rehydration Solutions (ORS) rely on a half century old technology to deliver electrolytes into the body. This process has several limitations and results in severe and chronically dehydrated patients (such as those with conditions like Short Bowel Syndrome, Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Gastroparesis and Colon Cancer among others), to be highly dependent on parenteral rehydration rather than Oral Rehydration Solutions. Speedlyte, the first ORS with Encapsulated Nano-Electrolytes technology, successfully reduced the need for scheduled parenteral hydration therapies in severely dehydrated patients by 100%.* The Encapsulated Nano-Electrolytes technology delivers electrolytes packed in liposomes, nanoparticles composed of a phospholipid bilayer similar to the gastrointestinal cell's membrane. This results in a lower osmolarity and higher bioavailability, generating a more efficient mechanism of electrolytes absorption. Speedlyte rehydrates in one third of the time, and with one third of the intake, compared to the market leader. It’s Encapsulated Nano-Electrolytes provide better palatability and with no artificial ingredientes. Speedlyte is FDA compliant, contains absolutely NO artificial flavors, colors or GMOs. It is also low in sugar, BPA-free & Gluten-free. *Based on pre-clinical and exploratory trials. Results may vary based on patient diagnostic.

Serves its purpose, but bad aftertaste
I think this product should serve its purpose well for those looking for an oral rehydration product. It doesn't taste overly salty or sugary, and the orange flavor is similar to that of orange Gatorade or an orange popsicle. However, there is quite a medicinal aftertaste that was very off-putting to me. In a pinch, I would certainly use this product. But since I have POTS, I need to drink several liters of fluid a day, and drinking that much of this product would probably be very disagreeable to my taste buds and stomach. However, I have a very sensitive sense of taste, so this may work great for other people!

We got a free sample of speedlyte from a survey we did and first night we used it his hydration status was SO much better! We currently put Speedlyte in his gtube feeds
My son has short bowel syndrome (SBS) and is currently on TPN and gtube feeds. We got a free sample of speedlyte from a survey we did and first night we used it his hydration status was SO much better! We currently put Speedlyte in his gtube feeds, bottles and drinks during the day. This product has been amazing for him- very thankful we found it!

So helpful for dehydration from gastroparesis
Disclaimer: I did receive a bottle of this for a review, but it helped so much that I have repurchased the 4-packs of this twice since.I have gastroparesis and despite the fact that I usually have a drink with me, I still get dehydrated often, have to get an IV once or twice a month, I become dehydrated to some extent daily, sometimes so much that I sometimes can't feel my mouth and end up pouring the drink down my shirt. This has saved me from fainting two or three times so far when it's gotten really bad and I get the lightheaded, dizzy, foggy feeling way I get right before I faint. I've reached for it immediately and managed to avoid it getting that far.I use drip drip when I'm out because I can just pour the powder into my water but anytime I'm home and can chill it, speedlyte is my go-to. If it came in powder form, I would use it when I was out as well.

Far surpassed Gatorade for preventing major dehydration
I have Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome, which is periods of unrelenting vomiting for a week at a time, non-stop. Dehydration happens super fast, especially on the medicines I have to take. Thanks to a sample of Speedlyte, this last time I didn't get the muscle cramps and dehydration like I usually do. I'm buying some to have on hand for when I get sick, but this would also be a way better alternative to Gatorade for active outdoorsy people, or after a workout.
