is it constant current?

You need to purchase a DC power supply to go with this. The output current is DC. The voltage out is controlled by whatever DMX lighting software or board you are using. This then allows you to control colors and brightness.

Can i use this decoder for led strip lights below 12v? like 5v lights? or not, because lowest allotted power input is 12v?

This decoder Input Automatically adapt to DC12V-24V,And Output Max power load:240W(12V);480W (24V). it can't used with 5v LED Strip.

Just what I needed

Works exactly how I needed it to. I have it controlling about 33' of RGBW led strip lights. Very simple to hook up to the power supply and the LED's. Controlling them with Q Light Plus controller was simple. Setup the DMX address, plug in, and go. 4 channel control, once for each color.

Good product and helpful support

I was using this dmx decoder and LED strip light with a lighting controller. I initially had problems getting all the colors to light so contacted Giderwel. They were very helpful and were willing to send a replacement if required. I was able to correct the issue with a setting on the controller, and now it works great.
