You Can Do It, Sam

Sweet story and illustrations-Have Good Night Sam; nice follow up book -Pleased with purchase-Thank you

Is it good, that is a grate question I have no clue but keep asking and you will find out once you read it.

The illustrations are wonderful and comforting and the message for kids is very positive. My 2 and 4 year old granddaughters are at that “ I can do it” by myself, independence seeking age so perfect.

We checked this out of the library today. We've had to read it to our two-year-old son probably 12xs already. It combines two of his big interests -- cooking and trucks. The illustrations are beautiful and the story is lovely. Highly recommend!FOLLOW UP: We bought this book in hard cover from an independent seller, since the hard cover isn't in print. We received a smaller version of the book that seems to have been put out via a Kohl's fundraising campaign. It is not nearly as nice as the original hard cover version we checkout of the library. Buyer beware / clarify if you are interested in a hard cover copy!

This is a great children's book. It is very warm and inviting, and is a wonderful tool to teach reading skills. There is a lot of repetition of words, which is helpful when children are learning to read. It is also a wonderful story to read to your child at bedtime!

We read this book fairly often. She already enjoyed Sam because of "Kiss Goodnight" so we've picked up some additional Sam books. She loves rooting for him, and enjoys just reading this book together. It's a staple in the rotation.

My kids (6 and 4) have loved this book. I love to give it as a gift. It's beautifully written. Poetic. It doesn't follow that same old sing song of other books. It's evocative and sweet. I love when the little bear snuggles into Mama's soft, round belly and they warm their toes in fat socks and they tell the story about a little bear who brings cakes to their friend "all by himself" and his friends love them so much. It rings so true and so beautifully.

I had to buy this book after my then-4 year old made me check it out from the library 3 times. He calls it "the Sam Cakes book," and whether it is the cozy atmosphere, the warm, encouraging mother, the I-can-do-it-by-myself... with a little help from Mommy, the cake, or the primary colors (likely a combination, right?), he LOVES this book and wants to re-read it again and again. And I truly don't mind, because it's very sweet.

My three and a half year old grandaughter really enjoyed this book having read others in the series. Ideal for her age group and fun to read to them.
