Brainy Bucks Voice Activated Safe Toy

I read all the reviews before purchasing, and was hoping that I'd be among the select few in which the voice-activation wouldn't be a problem. I was wrong. I'm not sure why this product needed to be so sensitive, and wouldn't have a LITTLE bit of wiggle-room when it came to it's voice-activation. This obviously wasn't meant to be anyone's primary place to keep valuables, but it's all about letting kids feel like they have a little secret place (not unlike a diary). I watched as my son's initial enthusiasm of unwrapping this present slowly turned to frustration. And now that frustration has moved on to neglect as this promising headliner has become a dust-collector.I still have faith that this could be a good gift for a certain type of child, but even I had issues with opening the safe of the first try each time. When saying your password, you need to make sure that you modulate your voice EXACTLY the same as you did when you set the password in the first place, in addition to keeping the safe at the same exact distance. Ambient sound also seems to affect the sensitivity, so I guess "buyer beware"? It's so exciting when it actually works, but this just highlights how infrequently this is the case. I would not recommend this as a gift for someone that you're too fond of.

My 8 year old was trying to set up the verbal password and no matter how well he pronounced words repeatedly it just says over and over it does not recognize. Its impossible for him to even use. A couple times it seemed to accept a word the first time then would not recognize it for the second time read verification of the word. I tried to set it and it accepted my password but then when I tried to open it what's my verbal password that is accepted it continuously said it did not recognize me. I kept having to reset the entire thing. My frustrated child gave up on it and does not use it it just sits on his dresser collecting dust. So the purchase was pointless and I could tell that he was very disappointed because he was excited at the thought of it working. Overall it was a waste of money

8 year old son was so happy to get this. His sisters have password journals but he wasn't interested in a journal as they are really girlie. This thing was perfect for him! So glad to have found this!

It works decent if you keep the password very basic like well enunciated "2-4" or else you'll get an error.

I bought this for my nephew (7) who was beyond excited to have somewhere secret to keep his possessions. However after multiple attempts to get it to recognize his voice and failing he quickly lost interest. I could only get it to work with my voice once. In total we tried no less than 20 times throughout the day with no success, so it now sits in a corner.

This is a very neat bank and my Granddaughter loved it. With that said the voice activation is a bit sensitive, the child needs to say the password EXACTLY each time. We found it was easier for a 7 yo if she chose a short password. Hence cat worked better than pussycat.

This was the second one i ordered. This item does not work. Unfortunately i sent them to my grandchildren out of state so i am unable to return it. Very disappointed.

The voice activation only works with a female voice. My son and I had no luck programming it. My wife was the only one that could set the password up. I would not recommend this!
