Lincoln and His Boys

This is a great book to read. You can read with kids and even to yourself. Lincoln and his boys is pretty good book. I would definitely recommend buying this book.

I read this book aloud to a 1st grader and 4th grader for our Civil War study. They enjoyed it. So did I. The author explained how she researched it so we discussed how authors research for books. It gave a different viewpoint (from his sons' point of view) than most books about Lincoln. I am planning on checking out more books from this author.

I saw this book on the library shelf as a Beehive Book Award Nominees for the State of Utah. Not only did I read it, but then I bought it! I think it's deserving of the nomination. It is a sweet, little read (just under 100 pages) with beautiful illustrations written from the perspective of Lincoln's loving yet sassy son's, Tad and Willie. My 13 year-old daughter also read it and now I am reading it to my 5 year old. Whether you are a Lincoln fan, a history buff or interested in a cute story from the eyes of a child, I recommend this book.

I love the perspective of this story, told from children’s eyes. The story is touching and personal. Beautiful pictures as well. Great book!

Historical fiction is not easy to come by for a 7yo boy, but this was okay.

This is a wonderful chapter book about Abe Lincoln, and his sons, Willie and Tad. It centers first on Willie, and then after Willie's death, upon Tad. Each boy's personality and their brotherly interactions are fully explored, as are their romps in the White House, and disturbances during Lincoln's cabinet meetings. The colorful illustrations are full of love, mischief, and character. An excellent book to read aloud to your children.

Great story of Lincoln and his boys. I love stories of Lincoln and this is a great way for young children to learn about an impressive President. Highly recommend.

I thoroughly enjoyed a Lincoln history told from the viewpoint of his children. Lincoln was a loving father and husband and this book bears that out. This story made me want to learn more about this man and his family.

Highly recommend.It is a beautiful book.
