Pirates Don't Take Baths Board book – July 5, 2016

I got this non-rhyming board book as part of a Prime Book Box, Reading Level Baby-2. It is a sturdy, medium-sized 22-page book.Follow the adventures of the little pig as he attempts to avoid bath time by pretending to be:- a pirate- a cowboy- a knight- a desert dweller- an astronaut- a treasure hunterWith each variation, his mama counters his arguments until she ultimately has him hunt for treasure in the bathtub.PROS:- It’s a cute little story with a protagonist and an actual plot.- Humorous.CONS:- The book’s cover is misleading in that I would have expected the entire book to be about a pig pretending to be a pirate. This might be a big deal if you were looking for a pirate book, in which case your child is bound to be disappointed.- Poop and pee are mentioned.- The artwork is pretty simplistic.- It’s pretty clearly aimed at boys.

My 19mo son enjoys leafing through this book to look at the pictures; I make up the story as I go. There are WAY too many words so it takes too long to read, and it even feels inappropriate at times ("poop" and "pee" are mentioned). The few times I've actually tried to read the book, he has quickly lost interest. This book came in an Amazon Prime Book Box, otherwise I would never have picked it out myself. If you're searching for a good bathtime book, keep looking. I promise you, this isn't it.

My toddler loves, loves, loves this book. We got it with our box subscription set and so I hadn’t read it before. It’s a perfect combination of fun, cute, education and art. A must buy especially for silly toddlers that try to get out of taking a bath!

Bought this when my grandson wasn’t wanting to take a bath. Good story. Sturdy book. Happy with purchase.

This book is cute and funny. My daughter loves it. I am not very good at reading it in two different voices, but we make it through with smiles and she loves to shout 'Eureka!' at the end! :)

It's a cute book. It seems a tad old for its intended audience. My 3 year old thought he didn't have to take baths for awhile if he was a pirate. Haha
