Spawn / Myco Bags are used for mushroom cultivation. These bags are made of durable 2.2 mil polypropylene. They measure 8 x 5 x 19 inches, have a 1.5 x 1.5 inch 5.0 micron filter which allows for the passage of air but not unwanted contaminates. They can be used in a pressure cooker, steam sterilizer or autoclave. Mycobags can be used for spawn production to inoculate bulk substrates like straw or compost. The breathable technology behind the mycobags provides gas exchange, but excludes water vapor, so your spawn does not dehydrate and you can fruit your substrate right inside the bag itself. These side-gusseted bags give a sturdy stand-up bag after filling and a strong bottom seal. They are reusable, can be sealed with an impulse sealer, taped or tied shut at the ends. Each bag can easily hold 2-3 pounds of substrate. Mycobags are a superior and economical choice when it comes to growing mushrooms. Other sizes, filters and quantities are also available.

Good Bags for 5lb substrate blocks
Happy with these bags. they get stiff after a couple of hours in pressure cooker but not brittle.I had to re-pressure cook 2 bags (my bad not the bags) and they held up so far.I will order again.

2 of 12 bags melted. Plastic becomes brittle after 2 hours sterilization. Too expensive, one dollar per bag. Unicorn bags are 30 cents.

How to use a PC and mycobags
None of the bags broke or melted. Worked flawlessly. Used with supplemented sawdust and wood chips for king oysters.
