This strobe is fairly bright, it can illuminate a small to medium sized room pretty well. The frequency controls range from about 1 per second up to something like 12 per second. Higher frequency strobing annoys me so I didn't test the max setting but it definitely can do that if needed.I briefly tested the sound activated mode and it does respond but is not particularly accurate or sensitive, more of a novelty but nice to have anyway.I definitely appreciate the physical dial controls for frequency and sound as well as the power on off switch. In a world where everything is touch or app activated it's nice to have no frills physical controls.

I am pretty satisfied with this strobe. I'm using it for a Halloween prop and I'm not taking advantage of the sound-activated automatic mode. However, I did test the auto mode and it seemed to work as it should. I just need it to strobe at a set rate. At the maximum settings I get 17 strobes per second (I used my phone slo-mo video mode to measure it), which is not quite the 20 strobes/sec that the seller advertises, but it's close enough and it's fast enough for my needs.I originally was looking for a Xenon strobe which still is the best for producing the spooky stop-motion effect since the xenon bulb can quickly switch completely off and on. However, my slow-mo video of this LED strobe at 17 strobe/sec did show that the LEDs did completely turn off in each cycle, which is great. I don't have a xenon strobe to compare it to, but I think it should be plenty good for my prop.The mounting bracket is made of pretty thin metal that can bend easily, but this strobe is very light weight so it's not a big deal. Another review mentioned that the power cord unplugs from the unit but it does not. However, it does have an inline on/off switch. There are plenty of ventilation holes so definitely do not put this in a wet environment unless you take care to shield it from any moisture.

I bought these strobe lights with the intention of creating a disco party in my living room so I wanted to create a party atmosphere with cool light effects and these strobe lights are great for that. I love that you can set the speed of the strobing to however fast or slow you want. I just don’t like that they’re so small. I have yet to screw them to the ceiling and use them preoperly but they are just for my own entertainment so in the mean time I just prop them on a table and point them in the area I need them.When it comes to the sound-activated strobe lights, they respond to sound from a speaker very well and I like that I can control the sensitivity of the sound activator, but I wish there could’ve been something like a toggle switch in case you didn’t want it sound-activated. That way I wouldn’t have to buy regular strobe lights too, it would be all in one.I wouldn’t recommend it for bigger areas because they are super tiny. All in all it’s a perfect product for personal at home use and it’s just what I needed.

Build quality is also very important to me which is why I love my new JLPOW 36 LED mini strobe light. It has durable all metal construction, super bright LED’s, removable power cord and is very compact. Unlike a lot of inexpensive strobe lights the JLPOW 36 allows you to adjust the sensitivity of the sound active mode to tailor the response of the light to the type of gig performing. I have played a Rave and two parties with this strobe light and am very impressed with the brightness and action of this little light. The removable power cord prevents damage that often occurs with cheaper made strobes with permanently attached cords. I suppose for the price and the very compact size, this isn't too bad. There is no on/off switch or remote however so something to keep in mind. Considering that these are usually mounted from the ceiling I suppose a housing-mounted switch might not always be in reach. however many "dance lights" in this price range come with remotes on here. Also while pretty bright, it doesn't "flash" as well as your typical more expensive "club" strobe light. You need a very perfectly adjusted song and tempo to get the good quick flashes without it seeming like its just "on". You know, the kind that makes your own movement and shadows look choppy several times a second. This really cant offer that, but for pulses of light that allow for prolonged time between beats it works as a "flash:, if that is what you are looking for.

This unit is very small but really impressive. I use it with a remote switch with sound activation control turned off for Halloween "open the door in a spooky costume" theatrics. Combined with blue tooth speakers and a cell phone app that plays one button spooky ambiance music at the door and scary effects from the bushes outside, I answer the door, hit my buttons, and make the children cry. Of course, I back off and my wife (the nice witch) then reassures them of their safe world. The strobe is super bright, adjustable flash speed, and immediate on/off. Less than $20.00? Oh yeah.

The media could not be loaded. The strobe light worked perfectly. We had it on for over 10 hours straight for two nights in a row for a couple Halloween parties I hosted and it worked nicely without any issues.
