Chellee Guitars Ponyboy Overdrive Ponyboy is our nod to the now legendary Klon Centaur overdrive design, but with a little of our own flavor. While it’s voiced similar to the original design, Ponyboy stays away from hard to get NOS components and still achieves a great blend between sparkly boost and transparent drive with a bit less of the harsh ultra high frequencies you often find in Klon Centaur clone pedals. We’ve also managed to do all this a tiny package without using any surface mount components. Of course, since it’s a Chellee design, we couldn’t help but add extra functionality in the form of the voicing switch. In this design, it shifts the frequency of the active Tone control down from adjusting highs only into the mid frequency range which fattens up the tone a good bit when boosting the EQ. As an added bonus it does a great job of scooping out mids when the tone is cut. As if this wasn’t enough, we’ve managed to keep the price well below most boutique designs. Handmade in the USA. Ponyboy Overdrive V2 is the next generation of the original Ponyboy Overdrive. All effects now utilize relay soft switch bypass switching for added reliability and a dimmer and more diffused LED indicator.
