The queerest of all queer still
Hard to think that this band has been around for nearly 3 decades. They sounded so fresh in my ears that September 1995 afternoon while I was browsing at the local record shop in Broadstairs, Kent, I could not believe how different and brilliant every track was."Anthology" is the band's second international greatest-hits album, presenting remastered version of 35 singles listed in chronological order of release, including rare 2007 track "Witness to your love". The compilation omits the airplay singles "Supervixen", "Temptation waits", and "No gods no masters" single "Wolves".Frontwoman Shirley Manson explained that the album is not meant as a typical greatest-hits collection, but rather something more academic, as an opportunity to "put all our babies together as one, look at the nursery and go, 'Wow, we raised some pretty cute kids!'" She also revealed that, unlike 2007's "Absolute garbage", this time around the band had the polar opposite of previous heartless experience, even being involved in the art direction. On the cover, the Japanese writing translates to "A masterpiece produced by a band known all over the world". Worldwide known they are not, which is a shame, but their discography and legacy stand amongst the greatest in contemporary music. Younger audiences are probably unaware of their contribution to alternative rock, but it was their records that bridged different worlds, and drew different audiences together under Garbage's unique banner. Calling them the forbears of alternative rock is only fitting. "Anthology" is essential π

Nice career overview!
These are remastered tracks, good news if you don't have remastered versions of their 90's output. Shame they didn't add a dvd or brd with videos, those were usually good. Or a live concert from the 90's. Still, fine anthology with some unearthed bonus tracks for the fans.

Brilliant compilation
Ever since stupid girl was released many years ago I've been a massive fan of garbage. And listening to all these tunes makes you appreciate what an important and relevant band they've become in the music industry. Mansons voice is a joy backed up by a group of tight talented musicians there songs really have stood the test of time. All there tracks still sound fresh and it's hard to believe some are decades old. In a world of materialistic and generic music garbage can stand proud as a band who never sold out and keep producing wonderful music.

The Remastering is Impressive
Of course, thrilled to have such a comprehensive collection of Garbage's hits. But what hit me the most was the stadium-effect of the remastering of several of these tracks! I think I got used to it as the first disc played on, but the initial sound is impressive!

Fun to play on random, all songsγROCKγ
Garbage in name only! These songs don't let up, even the slowies simmer with tension. No duds, just 100% quality. ππβπ―ππ€πππππ

Got two Sides A & B LPs
I already owned their first three RE LPs, so when I bought this last January, I decided not to open it since I already have the previous albums. I decided to open it three months after purchase (in April), and to my surprise, it contains two of the same set: Side A and Side B!Now I'm missing Side C and Side D, which is the second LP with nine other titles from their later albums. I can't return this anymore as the window period has ended. LolAnyone else experienced the same?
