Excellent Computer Science Textbook
I have enjoyed this for my second semester Computer Science textbook. The book is clearly-written, and it is great to use for referencing after having read it. Problems and questions to jog your memory and brain are interspersed. I have only read part of the book, but what I have read is extremely useful. I am looking forward to learning more techniques.

Just what I needed.
This was a muchhhhh better price than it was at my school's bookstore. It is looseleaf, which I actually like. And it DID come with a virtual classroom code that worked. This was a great buy!

Pick a different book.
I am quite surprised at the number of comments of how good or excellent this book is. Based on my experience, it is not. This is my first text in Java and I find the book poorly organized and difficult to follow. The examples are incomplete on quite a few of the concepts and definitions. I had to borrow two other books by other authors along with discussions with online blogs such as stack flow to complete work assignments and learn concepts. I do not doubt the author's understanding of Java but the method of teaching concepts needs greater development and better examples of the concepts.

Loose-Leaf Book
I didn't realize that it was a loose-leaf book and then had to buy a 2.5" binder to carry it around. I ended up not needing it for the class, so now I will likely resell it.

Badly organized content, not concise, and difficult to follow
This book makes relatively simple concepts way too complex. The author(s) need to work on getting to the point and being more clear with their language. The book starts throwing terminology around before even explaining what it is. If you have to use this book for class, just go to the Table of Contents, jot down the concepts for each chapter, and youtube them. This book isn't worth any money.
