French flax are derived from Flax plants in France and is often considered the highest quality fabric in Europe. The French Flax is the strongest natural fiber and it is not uncommon for these linens to last 30+ years. In Europe, these linens are passed from generation to generation. As they are more than 30% stronger than cotton, they become softer as they are washed. Some may regard Egyptian and Turkish cotton as the best fabric but cotton is much thinner and requires more threads to achieve the same weight. The thread count of linen is usually lower than cotton but it's attributes are often far superior. Of all fabrics, French Flax linen has the highest moisture wicking ability and is the preferred choice for those that have excessive sweating at night. The sheets absorb the moisture so that it's user can sleep comfortably through the night. In addition the sheets can be washed over and over again without deteriorating. At the same time, the sheets are getting softer every time it is washed. Our sheets are Oeko-Tex® certified to be free of harmful chemicals These sheets have been professionally stone washed and pre-shrunk. These linens have been tested by Intertek for fasteness, piling and shrink. They scored 4/5 on fastness, 4/5 on piling, and maximum shrinkage of 1%. Other linens typically score 2,2,and 5%. Meaning you pay for 100% of a sheet set but they shrink 5%. Additionally most Chinese weaving shops don't know how to properly stone wash sheets and do either artificial creases or patched linen due to poor stone work.
