The soundtrack to Pacific Rim was scored by German composer, Ramin Djawadi, best known for his Grammy nominated score for "Iron Man" and for the TV series "Prison Break", "Game of Thrones" and "Person of Interest". The score captures the action and power of this epic, science-fiction film set in the near future, where soldiers piloting giant robots battle against invading giant monsters.

Pacific Rim - Original Soundtrack
There's a nice mix of intensity and melody in the "Pacific Rim" score. The guitar is used quite frequently, something I love in movie scores because it is somewhat uncommon. The first few tracks on the album capture your interest immediately and place you in that world, and then fortunately the rest of the album continues to provide a quality music experience.I have become a fan of composer Ramin Djawadi over the last few years, I particularly enjoy his work on "Game of Thrones". He has become very good at infusing epic action movies with emotion and heart. I think he was the right person to score "Pacific Rim". In some ways, this score reminds me of Djawadi's work on the first "Iron Man" film - and that's a good thing.I'm very excited to see the movie, especially after hearing this score (which I think will work well based on the imagery I've seen from the movie). This soundtrack is worth a purchase, and its definitely something that you could listen to multiple times.FAVORITE TRACKS[1] Pacific Rim[2] Gipsy Danger[3] Canceling the Apocalypse[7] Mako

Genuine Genre Soundtrack
Without even seeing the film, Pacific Rim is a labor of love to a genre of cinema that has never been fully realized in the Western World. Mecha/Kaiju Films have only until now been animated, or poorly adapted in live action films, and what little exposure to anything of this caliber in the United States has been underwhelming, and poorly executed because of a general lack of substance. The soundtrack to the film is a bombastic blast to the genre in all of the right ways. Each track carries with it a sense of the film's style and respect for its source. For example, track 1 "Pacific Rim" carries the weight of a theme song if the film as a series, and track 2 "Gipsy Danger" resonates with the sound of the hero-mecha's main anthem. When you hear those first cords of the track, you can't help but feel the Mecha's presence.

Monster Beats!
Perhaps being the target audience of "Pacific Rim" already made the soundtrack score an easy sell for me, but that doesn't change how exceptional this music is. The main theme has a hard rock vibe that will keep your foot tapping or fuel a good workout! One can channel the monster-fighting heroics of the film with a simple toggle of the iPod, which you can be sure I will be doing again and again. Ramin Djawadi's score is unique and refreshing but overall compliments the film with it's BIGNESS. But this should be no surprise coming from the same talent responsible for scoring "Game of Thrones", which brilliantly describes several different lands and character themes. Djawadi's "Pacific Rim" score is a natural progression from series to film, bringing together many flavors into one big robot and monster filled pot!

A Full-Throttle Action Romp In Full Djawadi Fashion
Ramin Djawadi has always been composing amazing music. He has the ability to adapt to pretty much any story and setting. From Ask The Dust, Beat The Drum, the Medal Of Honor video game reboots, Game Of Thrones to Iron Man he's always adapting. The score for Pacific Rim is exactly what you'd expect for this kind of movie. It's a "balls to the wall" action score at times, but it also has many layers. This isn't a wallpaper score and in fact it's quite good and quite entertaining. The first thing that Djawadi fans will recognize are the similarities between his Iron Man score and this. Yes, he brings the rock aspect in first and honestly it's awesome. The theme is great, catchy and sets the groundwork for what's to come. There is a lot of music here and it's structured very well. After our rockstar intro we get some more setup and even some beautiful emotions in the track "Mako". Once all hell breaks loose Djawadi brings in the big orchestral sounds mixed in with some synths and percussion. Near the halfway point we get some fantastic choral work. It gives the score a sense of grandeur and doom. The deep male chorus full of grunts and chants also give the film a rough masculinity. Let's be honest here, not many females are gonna be clamoring to see robots fight monsters. The movie and score both have their boyish charm that will reawaken the giddy 12-year old boy in anyone, maybe even the ladies who knows? The best part of the score is that it has many other fun melodies worked into it so it never becomes dull or one-note. It's a fun ride all the way though.Pacific Rim is a very fun score from Ramin Djawadi. It shows his versatility to adapt and infuse his style into anything. A lot of people will criticize the use of electric guitars and there's no pleasing those people. So no point in arguing. Let them sit in their rocking chairs on their porches and yell about how scores should be, if you ignore them then they will fade away. This is how a score for an epic monster movie should be, and every moment was a blast.

One of my favorite soundtracks. Ranks right up there with the Sherlock ...
One of my favorite soundtracks. Ranks right up there with the Sherlock Holmes/Pirates of the Caribbean soundtracks. My only issue with this CD (which it came to me speedily and in great condition!) is that my car CD player does NOT like this CD and spits it out. Or, when the CD player can "read" it, will play the first song, and THEN spits it out. I have to rely on my little portable CD player to listen to the soundtrack. Amazing music. Allows me to let my mind wander to the movie when I can't take time to sit and watch it.

Amazing soundtrack!
Awesome and fun music that fits the mood of the movie. Pacific Rim was my favorite movie from 2013 and the soundtrack added to it's awesomeness! The music can sound fun and epic on some tracks, and dark and serious on another and it works perfectly. An epic soundtrack to an epic movie. Overall, the CD has an upbeat feel and some fun, catchy, and inspiring tracks to it. I can listen to it anytime and never get tired of it. If you love the movie, pick up the soundtrack to hear the epic music on its own, it doesn't disappoint!

Buenos temas principales y secundario.

CD Review
Great music. All the songs from in the movie. All of the songs were good. I really liked the opening track. Very well done. CD and packaging arrived in great shape. Would definitely recommend this to those who liked the actual movie.
