Billy Boyd is bright spot in otherwise dull thriller...
Billy Boyd once said that he prefers character roles to lead roles because he gets to steal scenes from actors like Ian McKellen and Russell Crowe. In "Urban Ghost Story" he doesn't get much screen time, but he does the most with what he's given. I loved seeing him in such a different role from Pippin. As the loan shark's son, he's thoroughly and brilliantly unpleasant and unlikeable. I hope he's offered more roles like this that show his range as an actor.

Heather Ann Foster steals the show.
Heather Ann Foster steals the show. She plays a troubled and lonely teen girl. But is she seeking attention, is she possessed, or did something follow her back from the dead? Scotland at its scariest.

BAD QUALITY
I have to say the movie is really bad. I stopped watching it half way through. What happend to Jason Connery he is a good actor but end up in silly movies like this. Also the transfer doesn't help and the audio is very low. Overall the film is depressing to look at.

creative look at ghost story
I thought this was pretty good but evidently I am alone! This is a UK film about a girl who was briefly dead after a car crash but was revived. After that event she and her family, living a lower class existence in a council flat estate, began to experience either a poltergeist or a demon. What the family does in its panic is to get involved with every nutcase "professional" out there to solve this problem. Chief among these is a tabloid journalist who writes about UFOs, among other things. He starts hiring experts for them, really every spiritual charlatan in the book.Meanwhile the girl is trying to come to grips with losing her best friend in that same car crash. she was driving the car although everyone thinks he was. Is he the one haunting her flat? Or is her sense of guilt driving her mad?I liked this film and if you are looking for a quirky, indie film which probably would play in an art house, not a multiplex, this is the film for you.Visit my blog with link given on my profile page here or use this phonetically given URL (livingasseniors dot blogspot dot com). Urban Ghost Story
If your looking into getting this movie because you are a devout Billy Boyd fan....BE WARNED: this is a different kind of Billy character. He plays the son of a loan shark and there is bad language involved. Not his most lovable part. He's also not on the screen as much as a true Billy Boyd fan would like.On the positive side, this is an interesting movie with a interestingly scary plot and good acting. I would recommend it to anyone, who likes a good scary story.

Urban Ghost Story
I have to admit that unlike other reviewers I had never heard of Urban Ghost Story (UGH) until I saw it on television for the first time. That said, however, I found it to be the most profound and 'realistic' films within the genre. The very setting, a decrepid council estate, which one would normally find unpleasant for quite other reasons is made to feel like the bowels of hell; the central character, a maladjusted teen with a history more terrifying than Reagan McNiel herself.Jason Connery plays the wonderfully understated role of a journalist, sewing the characters together while we bear witness to the terrying events that surround the possession of Lizzie.Switch off the lights and click on Dolby Prologic and you will be scared in a way I never thought possible. It has managed to take the mundane, everyday places and objects that we take for granted, and uses them to unravel the dark side.I'm not usually easy to scare, being a 24 year old male and built like a thing made of bricks. But this was something quite different.
