10" Chewguard Light

A bit of a bear to install but I was able to put it on a playtop cage. Great value and built very well my birdie will have a hard time destroying it. The cable is very safe and chew resistant all the way past the end of the cage. I used the larger brackets to fit my prevue wrought iron select playtop cage. Good size that allows there to be a shadier area in the cage. Very easy to install but the instructions are lacking.

This is a great light. I got the timer too so it goes on and off with ease..I just bought the wrong size and I can’t afford a replacement. I wish I would have been able to size it first!!

I love everything about this light! I bought 2 and used the separately purchased splitter for the timers. Just right! Love that the cord is protected by a metal sheath. Love the timer’s sunrise/sunset feature, this gives my birds a “heads up” that their lights are going to turn off. Highly recommend this and the separately purchased splitter (for more than one cage). Great products! My little conures are happy and look so beautiful and healthy. This light is great and exactly as depicted. It works well with my cage. The only negative I have is the cost, but it was important for my birds safety so I sucked it up and purchased it anyhow.

My flock seem to really love this light. They seem to be a lot more active moving around cage and playing with their toys more. I bought the hook bill with chew guard from Amazon because I have both parakeets and cockatiels and this version has metal encased cord and chew guard over light for protection from my curious flock. It was difficult using the metal cable ties to secure cord to side of the cage. I had trouble pulling metal cable ties through and tight. This light is always on if plugged in unless you put it on a timer (which is what I did). If you don’t have a timer you will have to plug it in and unplug it to turn this light on and off. My pictures make the light look warm but that is because of my taupe cage cover. This is a bright cool light. The colors look like they would if you where outside. I have the light mounted on inside of cage and after hours of being on it is cool to the touch. Both the top side and the bottom side metal guard directly under led lights. I had originally bought soft bill version from another online store (the soft bill version cord and led light is not protected by metal so not suitable for parakeets and cockatiels which I have). The soft bill version I got didn’t work no matter what I did it would not turn on. I did get refund from the online store I bought it from. But I also realized I needed the hook bill version which that online store didn’t sell. Overall I’m very happy with this Amazon purchase. I can’t speak for the longevity of this as I just received it 2 days ago Update: it is now April 2023 my light is on from 1:00 pm to 10:00 pm every day (they are on a timer) and still going strong I love this light and so do my birds.

I’ve had my parrotlet, Imp, for 3 years now. He was technically a pandemic baby lol. He’s already very energetic, but the first day I had the light on was incredible! He was flying around the room from perch to perch and bouncing, and he seemed to want to show off to me more. More complex flight patterns, landing on new surfaces, tighter turns, quicker, and initiating lots of recall from perch to hand over and over again. He was feistier and even more engaged than usual. Could be a coincidence, but he also has lots of new feathers coming in. I’ve been using the light since Monday. And I may be crazy but I think it’s making me and my dog happier too.. I have it hung over a window because that’s where Imp usually is, and it shines onto my bed and my dog’s bed where we sit during the day. I have insomnia and struggle to keep a sleep cycle. I also have bipolar and terrible anxiety. But I swear this light has helped my anxiety and sleep, at least, if not had a positive effect on my mood. The light is high quality and can easily be hung many different ways. I also got the timer light and it is a lot smaller than I expected, but in a good way. Nice screen and buttons. Definitely a staple in my bird care now.

I bought three of these lights four years ago for my three bird cages and a couple days ago. One of them had two LED lights blow out. I called the number listed for the company and the gentleman answered right away, the same gentleman that creates these lights, and he shipped me a replacement for free that I received two days later. All I had to do was send him a picture to show him that the light had a malfunction, and he immediately took care of it. Even after three years, these lights are made to last and if they don’t he will make sure you get one that does.

My bird loves this lamp. Easy to install .

Great light that only produces UVA. It is a useful little light to add extra to my full UVB light. The box comes with no claims of UVB - but I cant remember if the product package ever claimed it. The Great part is the quality of the metal shrouding protecting both the light and the cable from curious beaks!

This light is substantial, very safe for my Cockatiel due to the guard, easy to attach to cage, bonus is that he can use it as a heated perch , due to its robustness I have no worries about him sitting on it whilst he is out of cage and I am around. Only slight downside is it is very bright and he is taking a while to get used to it, and though the timer dims light 20 mins either side it would have been good to be able to adjust the brightness but realise it must be set that bright to benefit the bird. Would definitely recommend this light for caged birds.

J'ai acheté la lampe et la minuterie. Ça ne fait que deux jours que je l'ai installée et les oiseaux semblent bien l'aimer! Les vidéos explicatifs sont bien faits, mais j'ai eu un peu de misère avec les boulons, j'ai dû ajouter des écrous supplémentaires pour que la lampe soit solidement fixée. C'est peut-être à cause de la manière dont ma cage est faite? La minuterie fonctionne très bien et la lampe s'ouvre et s'éteint graduellement. Très satisfaite de mon achat.
