I love books and this has one of my favorite covers
I love books and this has one of my favorite covers. I have not performed any spells from it yet because most call for the use of an anthame or wand. One item I'm unsure I want to involve because I'm not too fond of having a sharp item lying around my room.

Great book, good info, recomended!
I have it as both a book and a kindle book. Simply written but a well thought and deeply worked volume. It helps to give more ideas for spellworking and even if you are not a traditional Wiccan it gives much information and a new perspective on many things. I loved it. If used along with "The way of four" from the same writter it gives a solid foundation on elemental workings and relations.

Impressed
I am impressed with this book. The author has a very personal and humorous way of writing while still taking the material seriously.

Could be better
If you have not purchased the "Way of Four" book, this book will be good. If you have already read the Way of Four book, this book repeats alot of the same information and will not be extremely useful. She could have offered more spells and gone into more depth on working with the elements.

Way of Four Spellbook
To me, this book did not have any great insights in it. I also met the author after I read it and was unimpressed with what she had to say. If you are interested, see for yourself because I might be a bit prejudice after hearing her views.

Good Stuff
I quite enjoyed this book. The author is the ex-wife of Isaac Bonewits so here you find material of a similar level to Bonewits and likely some influence (including a few jibes at her ex - which says more about the author than her ex).The book is quite heavy on theory in places, which is a good thing with some good explanations of how spells work. I think it is a good book for anyone interested in pagan magic or elemental magic, however its worth pointing out the book is written from a Wiccan point of view and many of the spells are very similar in fashion to modern wiccan books which are similar. What sets the book apart is the theory and interesting ways the author puts forth for working with the elements you might not find in other books. I found some of the early practical spells for working the elements into the self a little ridiculous, however some of the later spells are much better.Importantly it gives many ideas and suggestions rather than sticking to the cook book approach. I'd recommend it. Although at times I found the authors attitude and personal insights tiresome, the wise reader can filter past these. In particular the author highlights the spell goal 'wealth for deborah' which I found a little distasteful either that or an attempt at some form of auto-suggestion on the reader - clever indeed, but left me wondering on the mental state of the author.A good book overall.
