Min-Ah discovers a shared diary and is soon fascinated to learn that two people she thought to be very close friends have in fact begun a forbidden romance at her school. Review: adult drama disguised as high school horror - The second in the trilogy. (Which has expanded to include Voice and Witch Board). This film is an excellent portrayal of love at the adolescent level. Confused, intense, guilt ridden, and of course paranormal, all staples of Asian horror film. Everything is done on a professional level, erotic hinted scenes included. Two girls are deeply in love. They shun the society of the High School, though are bot a successful part of it. The reason for the review is to tell prospective buyers, this is a masterpiece waiting to be discovered. Try it, and if you enjoy the film, acquire Voice and Isle...a step up in Asian or maybe anybody's cinema. Review: Very Beautiful and Well acted - Well, I was not disappointed with Memento Mori, and found that the director too a very old type of ghost story, and turned it into something beautiful and haunting. The only thing that holds the movie back from being amazing is the sloppy pacing, and some weird plot device that never really pan out to anything. Other than that a highly recomended film.

Just another dvd to add to my growing collection
I found it interesting and since it seems to fall in with Whispering Corridors and Voices, I really enjoy the storyline. Regular American movies have become boring and I switched to Asian horror because of the element of surprise and how they view spirits. Plus, I sometimes watch it without the subtitles to see if I can follow along and majority of the time, I do.

BEST HORROR ROMANCE MOVIE
It's only subtitled. It's beautiful, creepy, creative, and macabre. Must watch. Oh, did I mention they are lesbian lovers? It's so cute.

No Captions, Don't Speak the Language
I may have loved this movie but since it has no captions and I don't speak the language, Amazon gets one star. Having experienced a lot of frustration trying to watch Amazon movies these days, it's is so disappointing I may just go back to Netflix. Bet this one doesn't get published.

Huh? Did we see the same flick?
I am sitting here reading reviews of this movie and I see words like "fright", "scary", etc. What? If this is scary, then "Beaches" is a hardcore snuff film. This movie is totally not scary. It's about Korean high school girls and that's it. Yeah, one girl offs herself, and the others sit around and discuss her. It's weak. No nothing. If you think this is scary, I bet you are deadbolting your doors after a good healthy dose of Barney or Dragon Tales. Watch Ju-On if you want scary. If you want Korean scary, watch Bloody Beach or Scissors. This is the weakest link.

"Read any good books lately?"
At no time did this feel like a horror movie. Surreal, yes, horror no, in spite of the few vain attempts to inject some last minute frights (which only added to the peculiar nature of the story). The plot features the doomed relationship of two students in an all girl high school. A shared diary they make falls into the hands of another student who reads it. The girls in this school, on the whole, are a disparate lot. They are depicted as petty, mean spirited, vain, and thoroughly snotty. I wasn't surprised when a couple of teachers slapped the faces of two students (something that would normally get one fired!). The story unravels slowly, in a nonlinear fashion. Time is not an issue; it bounces all over the place, going every which way. This does nothing to consolidate the story. However, if confusion was the filmmakers' aim then they surely succeeded. The camera work is exceptional; there are a couple of startling images. All of the acting is on the same level (if you enjoy watching screeching teens). It's a raucous vision of teen angst and the aftermath of ruination. I didn't particularly enjoy watching it but it did hold my interest throughout. I just have no intention of ever watching it again. Not a keeper.

If it's Korean, it's gonna be half decent to start with.

Memento Mori
