Works great
Very quick and detailed. Worked great to make plaster molds when used with the mouth trays.

Excellent for casts
Bought this to make a cast of my upper teeth after I noticed a chip out of one of my molars. Works excellent! If you are new to using alginate for casting, there’s plenty of excellent information on YouTube for getting the alginate:water ratio right. This sets fast, maybe just over two minutes using ice cold water (sets faster with heat) but it sets strong, so small details don’t seem to get lost from it ripping apart. The color change upon setting is nice too, but ultimately was not essential for my use - this is probably of more value to busy dental techs. The hardest part for me was making plaster casts (retroactive pun?) from the mold without leaving bubbles in the plaster, even using thin plaster and mushing it around in the low spots. This is overall good stuff and I’m sure many other uses for it can be found in molding/crafting so long as one is aware that it will eventually dry out and lose shape. I give it two snaps up

Really not meant for body parts.
This is not meant for life casting... That being said it will work. The instructions for it are meant more for inside the mouth (or I measured wrong). I ended up using 1 cup of the algenate per about 2 cups or so of water(these are not accurate we added extra water to get the right consistency). It set up fairly well, was longer than a minute thanks to how much was used at once. Now that that's said, if you are using it for life casting be prepared for the worst minty dental smell to ever exist. After all it is meant for dentists... Also know that you will want to add the powder to the water while mixing the water as much as possible. And like I said, the measurements on the package are meant for dentists in small amounts not people trying to cast hands or arms(or feet idk what you're into). Just know larger amounts are harder to do and will possibly take a few tries to work.
