Won’t stay in sofa position
Instruction fonts are very tiny. You will have to use your brain to assemble the puzzle. Screws weren’t labeled either so it’s a guessing game what goes where. Had to buy some hooks to keep it from sliding out of sofa position. A real shame because the bed part is just what I was looking for the matress is hard very firm you can feel the wood under it so it will need a foam top to make it comfortable. Was going to return but I’m 63 old female to repackage and mail back wasn’t an option. It’s very heavy for one person and took me 6 hours to put together. Hopefully the company should improve these things like add a latch to keep it in sofa position, cover the screws so you can’t see them on the outside and make a more detailed instruction manual, label each screw and what not with a number or a letter. And instead of micro print use bigger fonts. If they do these things this sofa bed would merit a 5 star. It’s not a high fashion design so it’s for a corner that is out of sight. But very practical for vacation homes. I bought it not because it was pretty but practical. I am very disappointed with the sliding sofa. Still will give it a 3 star, because it’s price is too high for what I paid I could have bought 2 mattresses and hidden them under a bed. Just wanted to keep my guests off the floor. So I’m keeping it, but do recommend to the ladies out there considering this sofa bed get somebody to help out and buy some sort of latch to keep sofa from sliding out and it’s for a sewing room, garage, will not look pretty as a decor element to your living room or baby’s nursery ok? With this said I do hope the company improves their product and customers like me will be happier. Better instructions and a latch to keep it together would had made a big difference in my review.

Immediately concerned
The first major part i took from the box was different from the photos of what i thought i was buying. I don't even know if i will assemble this, because i dislike this part compared to the ones on the product page.

It DOES stay up!
The installation guide is indeed hard to read due to its small size. However, Once I sorted the nuts and bolts and identified them against the parts list, the IKEA-style diagrammatic instructions became relatively straightforward to follow. The bolts are labeled "A", "B", "C", and "E"; the diagrams show which of them are to be used where at each step. "A", "B", and "E" differ only in their lengths, while the four skinny "C"s are meant for the wheels. As long as you use the shortest possible bolt for any given attachment point, you'd be using the correct bolt. They completely skipped the final step of attaching the backrest to the horizontal brace, but by then there are only two "B" bolts left, so it's pretty self-explanatory.The only step that made me stop to think was Step 3, concerning the attachment of the horizontal brace linking the frame/armrests, for which the instructional diagram is absolutely useless. There are two photographs in the lower left quadrant of the instruction sheet that are meant to show the correct orientation of the "wings" at the end of this brace, but the photos are so small and poorly detailed that they are only slightly less useless than the diagram. These wings are the pivot points for the folding backrest, and are supposed to point up and towards the rear of the sofa (headboard side). I've taken a photo from below the semi-upright backrest to show how things are meant to come together at that junction. This is what they should have shown to clarify Step 3.Note also that there is a metal ramp on the bottom of the sliding seat, which must clear the black plastic-covered support peg on the frame/armrest during the transition between sofa and bed (see photo). When raising the backrest during the bed-to-sofa transition, you will feel a 'stop' when this ramp first makes contact with the peg. I think this is the point at which the first reviewer stopped pushing, resulting in her backrest not wanting stay up. Had she lifted the front of the seat panel slightly and kept on pushing, she would have felt the backrest gliding towards a fully folded upright position, where it will stay put like a cocked hammer against a sear, resisting the tension from the folded mattress, unless and until she lifts the seat to clear the peg in order to unfurl the bed again. Note that when transitioning from sofa to bed, there is nothing working against gravity to keep the collapsing backrest from slamming onto the two support pegs, other than your muscle power. While these support pegs do have a protective plastic cover, repeated collision with a heavy steel beam would undoubtedly shorten its service life, so it is best to reach under the unfolding backrest to guide it towards a soft landing. One more thing that should be noted is the dimension of this bed. The listed specification says it is only 72" long when unfolded. I had been hoping that this is an under-estimate. Unfortunately, it is dead accurate in this case. If the bed must be able to accommodate someone significantly taller than 6', some structural modifications will be necessary (e.g., by welding or bolting on extensions to the backrest panels and getting/making a longer mattress), or he/she/they may need to sleep diagonally to keep the feet inbound.
