It works very well, but. . .
This works very well over a straight run of Cat5 or through a LAN. However, I found that it consumes a substantial amount of bandwidth on the gigabit LAN at home and it can impact performance of other high bandwidth technologies. The "but" in the title was due to a complete dearth of the add-on receiver which they recommend getting for additional clients. No one has the Smartooo SL-EX200-RX add-on receiver and I was unable to find any information about the manufacturer. If you only need one extended HDMI display, this is a good buy. If you want two or more remote displays, consider buying a different product or TWO sets of TX/RX and throw the extra TX in the drawer. If I could find an additional RX on Amazon, I'd give this 5 stars.

Works, just not as well as hoped
It does work through a switch, although it is not as seamless as I originally hoped. The devices communicated and the video was clear. I noticed that the product produced a very slight delay in the video but the audio seemed to remain in sync with the video so I didn't have any problems accepting the delay. The manual included with the product didn't match what was shipped but I was able to contact the seller and they sent the correct manual which did help some in figuring out the setup parameters. Overall, not a bad product and managed to fulfill my expectations.
