Competent and varied
This is a bit of a mixed bag though still beautifully constructed. If you are looking for the mellower sound of earlier albums this may slightly disappoint. A wonderful horn player but prefer him in more classical jazz mode. Seeing him in Tampere last year with a great piano trio gives you the real heights you could expect.
