Terrarium Moss Kit

I'm very happy with the quality of the moss in this kit. I was a little unsure of what to expect when I ordered it, but I shouldn't have worried. A very well sealed cardboard box came in the mail. It was filled with three kinds of moss (each type clearly labeled and nicely organized). I was very happy with the quality of the moss. The moss looked green, but was dry (dormant). The moss perked right up after being misted and having been in the terrariums overnight. I had some moss leftover, and was worried that it would not last the two weeks until I would be able to use it. I shouldn't have worried. I kept the moss in the box it was mailed in, and stored it in a cool dry place, and all was perfectly fine when I came back to it.The moss was very easy to work with and looks quite lovely.

This package came with a good amount of moss - far more than I was expecting - but not so much that I was overwhelmed. The moss was dry as expected but after following instructions provided, I have a lovely green healthy terrarium!

The moss arrived full of live ants. I tried to pick apart the moss to see if I could at least clean the ants off and use portions of the moss, but was only able to salvage a little. I used some insecticide and ant poison bate, but I'm still finding ants in my terrarium now. The moss contained portions of the ant colony with tiny white eggs. Even if I managed to kill the ants, new ones would just continue to hatch. I threw out most of the moss, and now I am wishing I had thrown it all out, or better yet, not bought it at all! I also tried the Tiny Treasure also from Moss Acres, and it was even worse. Two weeks later, I'm still finding new ants crawling out. They just keep coming!

The box of moss was great! It came all packed and labeled wonderfully. 3 different kinds of moss, each labeled appropriately. They were very dry when they arrived, but as soon as I spritzed them with some water they came right to life! The pincushion moss is especially beautiful. I put mine in graduated cylinders for little terrariums in my bathroom and they need barely any care. Just spray with water every now and then and they thrive. So wonderful. It even came with a little care guide. Thank you so much!

I was under the impression that I was buying live Moss but come to find out this is preserved or dried moss which basically means it's dead and I was not aware of that app first. So as long as you're buying for just a decoration it will be fine but I don't recommend it for growingThe moss is about two weeks old in pictures used when first purchased they were completely green and is slowly turning brown. PS I only used distilled water so I know it's not a chlorine or salt problem

So, my moss arrived today much faster than I expected. I think it was here in 2 days so that was great, however I was pretty disappointed when I saw how small the box was! I was even more disappointed when I opened the moss to find, really dry moss and much less than I hoped for. There was literally 7 small pieces of cushion moss. ( this is really what I wanted most), 2 pieces of rock cap moss (about 3 inches big each) and the rest was fern moss! Way too much $ for this. The fern moss I get at my lack nursery for $3.00 for a piece about 36" x 12", actually last time I went to buy it the guy gave it to me free! There was NO broom moss, which I really wanted also! Sorry Moss Acres... I hate to give bad reviews, but I was so excited to use your moss today in making a few closed terrariums for a craft sale I am selling at tomorrow and now I am so sad :( ehhh, live and learn!

My order shipped out quickly and was exactly what I was looking for. It contained three types of moss: rock cap, fern, and cushion moss. They’re perfect for the project I wanted them for! The only thing that would have made this better would have been to include a care instruction sheet (how much light/water). This wasn’t a big deal, I just googled it, but would have been nice.

We were making terrariums for Christmas presents and decided to order this kit. It contains quite a lot of moss, came in great condition, and had easy to follow instructions. The terrariums were beautiful--the moss adds a very nice touch.
