Portlanders like to drink; coffee, tea, beer, wine, booze, water...whatever. Give Portlanders a glass and pretty soon they'll be snobs about what side of town the filling comes from. Great American Beer Festival Gold Medals frequently accumulate more heavily in each side of town than in other states...and there are five sides of town! World class coffee and tea companies spring up like mushrooms after a fall rain. The tap water can legally be bottled as spring water.Imbibe magazine is a great magazine about great drinks from a place where they really care about such things. They provide excellent coverage of recent drinking trends and great old standards. Best yet, it's not a bunch of New Yorkers explaining why you should live in Manhattan. It's a bunch of Portlanders inviting you to the best drinks in the world. Enjoy a subscription, and remember to hydrate before going to sleep after a night on the town.

I've been purchasing this subscription for my brother for three years as his birthday present since he particularly loves it. After a bit of confusion and a few months of going back and forth with customer service, I accidentally received one of his editions in the mail (Nov/Dec 2014). We are not nearly as obsessed with alcohol as my brother, but this magazine makes me WANT TO!!! The pictures are fantastic, the recipes are wonderful sounding, and the articles (that I've read so far) are well done.Major drawback is that the editions are only every two months. But, based on what I'm reading, more often might be overkill. Although, its beautiful and perfect for the enthusiasts of alcohol!

I own a wine shop in Ridgefield CT and I find a lot of the articles in Imbibe fresh, relevant and trendy. My town is not like the hot spots we see in Imbibe but I feel the trends and new concepts all trickle down to suburbia. I love reading the mag.

I read this magazine from cover to cover when it arrives, and have made many recipes from the magazine over the last couple of years. I'll keep getting this one for years to come.Imbibe offers tips and recipes for all kinds of beverages, but focuses most of its content on cocktails and beer. Some of my favorite features are the bar/restaurant recommendations, recipes, and product recommendations. The magazine has quality content, not filler content, i.e., you'll feel comfortable sharing the tips with friends, knowing that the info is on the cutting edge, and not just part of a trend.

I recommend this for all drink enthusiasts -- key word, generically, "drink." We are interested in everything from cheap wine to gourmet teas and experimental brews; we love to forage and make chaga tea; we like to learn new recipes and utilize things in our garden. This, then, is the perfect magazine, with interesting articles, non-annoying advertisements, helpful recipes, and cool stories. A fun read if you're into that sort of thing.
