Well-designed, excellent heft and balance for serious work. Fit and finish on the blade and handles are well above expectations at the price point. The factory edge is just right for intended use, can break down bones with ease and slice meat with minimal effort. Note: it's not "razor-sharp" as the ad copy and misguided reviewers say. This is not a chef's knife for Dog's sake... Other reviewers have noted that it compares to similar cleavers that cost $100s more. I would agree.

We use the cleaver to cut ribs and hard vegetables and it works. It takes some effort to cut through some bones but it's worth it.
