StormDrain Clog-Free 3-in. or 4-in. Replacement Pop-Up Emitter Lid Top

I bought one of these to try. It worked great so I bought 4 more to replace the ones remaining from the builder. They don't clog. It's a bit hard to get debris out, but that's because there shouldn't be any getting in to the pipe. That has been resolved so I suspect the remaining debris will rot and exit the pipe with each thunderstorm. They are a bit expensive for what they are, but they work and that is the primary requirement.

They work great. I live in coastal south carolina and leaves and pine needles don't get clogged at the end like other brands flow right out with water.

Edit 9/28/22: 2 of the drain covers broke after mowing over them - still with mower set at 3". I have learned these MUST be removed before mowing otherwise the lids can pop up and get sucked up and split apart by the mower blade. .... end Edit I replaced the drain covers installed by a contractor I hired to install downspout extensions and force water away from house. He used a cheap type that kept getting clogged because it has crossbars on the inside that trapped small twigs and large leaves. These are EXCELLENT quality - nice sturdy material and easily removed if you need to replace them. I have 4 and had to replace 1 because my mower (on low setting of 2") DID suck the top up and chop it off. Since I typically mow at 3" or over, this won't be an issue for me, but others might want to be aware. (Of course, just removing the cover and reinserting after mowing would solve the problem) I do not understand why a professional installer would use anything else!

Quality replacement for my underground drainage tube in my yard. I couldn’t find this flap type (they only had a popup version) in any stores around me. I prefer this flap type as I keep my lawn longer and the other style gets stuck in the up/drain position and the lawn mower hits it. This popup replacement is thicker better quality plastic than what was originally installed. It was very easy to swap out and looks great! It’s even better than I expected!

Works very well to allow the leaves to wash out of the drain. Fit is good and I check them every year to ensure no clogs and I cut out any grass and dirt that tends to build up around the opening. Highly recommend.

The hinge on the part that pops up doesn't work properly--doesn't open as it should and doesn't stay closed as it should. This was my original review. I made the mistake of using the product because it closed enough to avoid lawn mower damage. However, the pop-up lid opened in high winds and broke off. I ordered a second one and received it today. It is worse than the first one. The lid won't even stay on the frame and won't stay closed or attached to the frame. Trying another brand for half the cost so will see how it goes.

Surprisingly high cost for the quality. They seem sturdy, but the lids don’t even close all the way unless you cut away the left over plastic that forms under the hinge.

perfect and works great on my french drain. Now if the mower guy stops hitting it with his mower, I will be fine.
