This is the absolute perfect collar to keep your beloved dog cool and comfortable. You can use ice cubes or the iced insert that comes with the collar. My Rufus Dog prefers cubes, and I don't mind melted ice in the house or car. When the ice melts, it goes down the chest of the dog. I read on the Kool Collar website that this is the chest is danger zone of over-heated dogs and how they get heat stroke. Apparently, the developers of Kool Collar lost his dog to heat stroke, so he/they developed this collar to save our loved ones. My Rufus loves lying in front of the fan at home or AC in the car with his wet chest and, outside, he is quite comfortable in the heat while wearing his collar. This is well worth the purchase price for our fur baby's comfort and safety.

This was a much needed purchase. We have a 110 lb Bernese Mountain Dog with tons of fur. He is hot every minute! He loves walks, but 30 mins & he spends 3 hours getting cool. He likes the Kool Collar so much, he is trying to stick his head into it before I can get the ice in it! It works good, and is completely melted in about a 40 min walk. I left off a star because the ice pack sent with it does not fill up the entire collar, it has to be supplemented with ice cubes. Otherwise, it is durable and does a great job!

I love these Kool Collars for my English Bulldogs! It truly helps them stay cooler in the hotter weather here in FL. The ice cubes outside work wonders as they even love the cool packs in the house afterwards to help cool down after a walk, etc.If you take your Bully or dog outside in hot weather, look into Kool Collars!

Bought this for our senior golden. He gets overheated often, even though we live in cold weather. It doesn’t seem to help much and only stays cold for an hour or so. No noticeable difference in the panting.

if you have an English Bulldog, a large will not fit

The actual collar is longer (size large) than the ice packs, they're 6 squares long and the collar is way longer. If the collar is larger then the packs should fit the collar, but they don't. The ice melts and loses the coldness after only a half hour and you can't bring replacement frozen packs with you while on a hike or on a long walk, unless you keep a fridge in your pocket and I'm not going to carry around a cooler. For a short walk in the heat I guess it works but my dog still pants.

I wish I could find these now. It has lasted through 2 English bulldog lifetimes.
