does this function as a sound card, so that you can interface radio in computer to create a link to make a node for EchoLink or other voip things?

This is a sound & cat control interface...together. works better than my old signal link & rig blaster ! I use mine on both ,Yaesu 857d & G-90 for all of my Digital modes ! This is the best one cable set up I have ever used !

Are there anything on the Digirig that have to be changed for the Xeigu G90?

No changes required. This listing is for Digirig pre-configured for Xiegu G90 and other transceivers using logic levels serial port or relying on PTT line. For more details please visit: http://digirig.net/understanding-rig-control-options/ 73 de K0TX

Does this require any mods to work with the baofeng cable and the UV-5R?

It depends on what version of the Digirig you have. The answer is yes if you have a version 1.5. No if it is 1.6 or later. The current version in this listing is 1.9 so the answer is no. Just identify the model you have because there is no answer that works in all versions.
