Hi, I haven't tested the backpack for water tight integrity, I found that the zippers , which should have been plastic, are the regular metal wire variety which will not stand up under moist conditions. I live on a boat and have had 100 % failure of these zippers within a years time due to corrosion. structurally the bag is fine with good stitching and good material. Thus the 3 star rating.

My husband needs a waterproof backpack for commuting and this was the best looking of the few available options that did not cost into the hundreds of dollars. But after receiving it, I am very skeptical that it is what is represented. For starters, American Shiled? The tag inside says American Shield, why is it labeled American Shiled? I did a search for American Shiled and it brought up zero results. This appears to be an Asian company, which gives me little confidence. Next, the description says TEN years warranty. The tag attached to the backpack clearly say it is warrantied for one year. Actually, what is says is, "American Shield is proud to stand behind the quality craftsmanship business and casual bags, clothings. This American Shield product is warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship for one year from the date of original puchase." So, the warranty is misrepresented which leads me to wonder if the waterproof claim is also misrepresented. 69 dollars may be pocket change for some people, but it is a lot for me and I can't afford to spend that much on junk that will have to be replaced right away.I just want to share a quote attributed to George S. I don't know if anyone else has ordered that particular backpack and had good results, but I think I am too skeptical to chance it. It would be great if the seller or Amazon could comment on it, especially the warranty.

Bought for my son who wanted something, strong, lightadjustable, and comfortable to wear as he is 6ft 3in. This works andhe really likes the many pockets and tabs.

Gave it as a gift and was told it was PERFECT!!!
