This is an exquisite hardbound edition of Fyodor Dostoevskyโs masterpieceโCrime and Punishment. It first appeared in instalments in Russian Messenger in 1866. By this time, Dostoevsky had been orphaned, imprisoned, almost died, lost his wife and his brother. He was also neck-deep in debt. From such a man came the story of the psychological impact of committing a crime. In this book, Raskolnikov murders an old, evil pawnbroker. Good riddance, according to him, since the woman was an oppressor of the weak, and this act allowed him to solve his own financial problems. Yet, it is a crime, and the guilt begins gnaw at him inside, even though he considers himself to be an โextraordinary personโ whose actions are above the law. This edition, with gilded edges and beautiful endpapers, is perfect for gifting and will prove to be a valuable addition to any library. Review: Worth It - This is my first novel, although I have tried some other novel in past but I didn't like them and left them at beginning but, this one gave me completely new experiences. While reading I find myself getting different feelings. The scenes and conversations are present in such a way it feels like watching a movie and the underlying story gives feelings as I knew them personally sometimes, I find myself pitying for characters and sometimes uplifted from the story. The author did a really great job. Review: Binding and pages - Binding and pages quality is very good, it is garnett's translation which is one of the best english translation for dostoevsky.

Worth it
I recently purchased the hardcover edition of "Crime and Punishment" for 529 rupees, opting for it instead of buying two paperback books. And let me tell you, I'm glad I made that decision! Upon receiving the product, I noticed that some of the pages were sticky. However, a little patience and a thorough page-turning session fixed that issue. What truly impressed me was the quality of the cover. It's sturdy, well-designed, and truly mind-blowing.The overall quality of the book makes it worth every rupee spent. Highly recommended.

Worth reading
The glitter on the edges of the pages comes out when touched and the pages are very thin apart from that a great purchase got it for rupees 559 go for it if available at slightly lower prices, the packaging was sturdy and the delivery was one day delivery for non prime members The Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky is a profound psychological novel that explores guilt, morality, and redemption. Through Raskolnikovโs turmoil, it delves into the complexities of human conscience and the consequences of rationalized crime. Its gripping narrative and deep philosophical insight make it a timeless masterpiece of existential literature.

Marvellous!
I just didnโt expect it to be this good. The packaging was good but could be a little better nonetheless book was in absolute fine condition. That golden guilding gives it a luxurious vintage look. This was my first hardcover purchase and oh boy, I do not regret it at all. Each and every single penny is worth for it. For a masterpiece like this from Dostoyevesky I am very proud to have it in my book collection. Loved it.

Fantastic quality, brilliant book
The cover and quality is so crisp, I can't stop myself from staring at it all day. No questions should be raised about the story and writing itself, this is Dostoevsky at his best.

The real crime is what a steal it is
Great edition, very literary and it is a good translation. The cover is sturdy and has a moderate resistance to wear. The pages are quite thin, eggshell colored, and quite transparent (although it is easy to adapt to). The thin pages mean exposure to humidity will render them wavy. The pages are sewn into the low profile binding with quality thread. The gilding on the cover and page edges are visually appealing and leave no residue. This book also includes a long, black ribbon. Overall, this book does not spare quality for cosmetics, and makes a nice addition to any collection.
