Nancy Drew Mega Mystery 4 Pack: Secrets Can Kill, Stay Tuned for Danger, Treasure in the Royal Tower, and The Final Scene

I'm a big fan of the Nancy Drew Games, especially these older ones. Haven't had a chance to play them yet, but wanted to share how I discovered the solution to fix a problem that prevented me from playing two of the four games. These were used games and two of them are discontinued. I use Windows 10 and followed the installation instructions found on the HER Interactive website. All four games installed with no problem. However, Secrets Can Kill (original 1998 edition) and one other game had a sound error message pop up on the screen and the neither game would run. After much searching I found the solution to the problem! The games are not compatible with my sound system, and the solution is simple. Just install a USB external sound card. I bought one right here on Amazon for $7.95 and received it 2 days later. Then I plugged it into a USB drive, plugged my headphones into the jack on the sound card, and both games played just fine. I discovered that USB headphones work just as good to fix this problem. Love these games and hope I can keep playing them for years to come!

I'm sure I would love these games if they could actually install. My computer doesn't even recognize the discs as game information. It keeps mistaking them as photo files. As far as this purchase went it was a waste of money and shipping costs. My recommendation is to purchase the downloads. Unfortunately the "original" Secrets can Kill and Stay Tuned for Danger have been discontinued so those are not accessible. At best you can download the newer "remastered" Secrets can Kill as well as Message in a Haunted Mansion and Treasure in a Royal Tower directly from Amazon. I have never had any issues with the downloads. The other advantage if you have the information stored directly to your Amazon account is that you won't lose your games and you won't have to wait the length it takes to ship over. As far as this particular product goes, it's only a single star because it's too much of an outdated product to even work.

I love playing the Nancy Drew games and was happy to find older games.However,I was not able to download Secrets Can Kill,Stay Tunes for Danger,and Treasure in the Royal Tower.Very disappointing.

Had to google search to find a way to install the disks - they are outdated.Also the graphics weren't the best.

Might have been a better experience if the game had allowed me to save, didn't freeze up or the video display worked consistently. The puzzles were not outrageously difficuly. It's hard to be objective about the story line and puzzle content when I experienced so many software glitches playing the game.

Love the Nancy Drew games. I purchased this 4 pack, knowing that there might be an issue with Vista. I've installed older games in the past with success on either my Vista or Windows 7 system. I found help on installing them on the Her Interactive website. But so far I was only able to play two of them (Royal Tower and The Final Scene).

Order came quickly, and I was so excited when I received it! These games were always the best when I was a little girl and they are still just as fun even in my twenties. You really can't beat this deal for four games either.

I have been playing Nancy Drew games for years and was so glad to see these classics released together. They really challenge young people to think logically, solve puzzles, and critically analyze problems.
