I heard this can reverse hair loss. True or False?

It may be folklore, but it seems to have slowed my male pattern balding to almost a standstill. It did not reverse it, but I still have most of my hair after using polysorbate 80 for about 30 years or so. I rub some on my hair every morning about 10 minutes before I shower.
