The perfect little love story
Now this is a love story. Just your basic everyday story of two people who meet, date, spend time together getting to know one another and fall in love. Except itâs all fake.Mason reluctantly agrees to distract Daisy while his brother attempts to gain the attention of Daisyâs sister. The two appear to get along quite nicely until Daisy learns that Mason has no real interest in her. However, due to a lifetime of being the âotherâ sister, frumpy and unfashionable, she turns the tables on Mason and using his feelings of guilt, she blackmails him into being her date at her sisterâs wedding. Now Iâve read other books with this trope but this author took this storyline and added into it two characters who are each charming, fun, damaged in their own ways, and completely unaware they are falling in love. The writing is pure magic. It is all completely believable as the author shows the reader each step of the way how, when, and why Mason and Daisy move from not friends into something more. It is never wordy or bogged down and the pace is fast and engaging. The banter between these two is so entertaining and they are able to laugh at their own flaws even when embarrassed by them. It was especially fun to catch the unspoken/written comparison of Daisy and Masonâs relationship to that of their dogs Peaches, a feisty little furpuff, and Cooper, a huge mixed lab. And if you think an ex-soldier alpha canât be intimidated then wait until you read about his first meal with Daisyâs parents. Good cop/Good cop (yes both Goods) has never been so hilarious! This is written in both POVs with a nice little epilogue one year later. May the chicken dances commence!

Fun & sweet, light & sexy, slow burning with the right amount of angst and heavy emotion!
I just adore Natasha Anders' stories and The Wingman just gave me a million new reasons to adore her even more. I'm so accustomed to her angsty storylines and her brooding alpha males, that the lightness and sweetness of The Wingman was both unexpected and refreshing.Mason Carlisle is a nice guy. Yes, he's anti-commitment. And yes, he's ex-military. And he may have modeled underwear at one point. He's as alpha as they come but he's also charming and funny and sweet underneath that roguish exterior. He's the full package and I absolutely loved him.Daisy MacGregor is the ugly duckling. Except she's really not. She's just insecure and often overlooked when compared to her beautiful sisters. I was worried that this was going to end up being a Cinderella story about a girl who loses some weight, undergoes a makeover, updates her wardrobe and ultimately scores herself the prince that wouldn't have ever considered her otherwise. I'm so glad Natasha Anders did right by these characters and by women in general and took this story to a beautiful place that sends a strong message that women don't have to change for a man because the right man will see our beauty no matter what. This story is fun and sweet, but it's also heavy with emotion. It's light and sexy and slow burning, but it's also got its fair share of angst and turmoil and push and pull. It's signature Natasha Anders yet new and refreshing and completely different from anything else I've read from her. I'm so excited for the possibilities of what's to come in this new series.

Gotta Love him
This is the first time I have read this author; loved the story so much. It wasn't a " love at first sight" romance but a realistic story that could happen. Daisy is the "good" sister who everyone dismisses. Mason is with his brother Spencer at the local bar in Riversend. They were the bad boys growing up while Daisy and her sisters where the good kids. Spencer wants Mason to be his wingman to chat up Daisy so he can make his move on Daffodil her cute sister. Mason is not wild about it but goes along reluctantly. Of course there are mean girls in this love story. Mason & Daisy start a fake relationship where Mason becomes her wingman to her other sister's wedding. Daisy doesn't want to attend alone so she guilts Mason into going. Of course both know the deal, they will their separate ways after the wedding. However Mason likes Daisy, actually sees her as funny, intelligent and he is sexually attracted but he doesn't do permanent. She understands this is all fake. He wants to pretend to "date" so it will look believable at the wedding. She goes along but all the while they are coming to know each other as friends even as the end approaches. The mean girls (bridesmaids) as well as the sleezy bridegroom and his buddies make for an involved complex story line set in South Africa. Never read a story from there before. Good read will definitely read more from this author. Diamondgirl

3.5 Mason and Daisy Stars
This book felt lighter than the previous books I have read by this author. Having said that, this one still had its darker moments.Daisy McGregor is the youngest of three sisters. Daffodil and Dahlia (Lia) are the cute and pretty one's respectively. Daisy is the smart one. The 'other' one. The sister that fades into the background. At 27 she has qualified as a vet and is working in her dad's practice in South Africa. At 27 she has never had a boyfriend and she's ok with that, except her Sister, Lia, is getting married and Daisy needs a date to keep the nasty comments about her lack of beauty / desirability away.Mason Carlisle starts out as his brother's wingman but after a night of misunderstandings becomes Daisy's. Daisy crushed on him when she was 14 but Mason was looking to escape an unhappy childhood in a dead end town so he worked hard and left to live a very full life. Now, he's back. He's hot. He's successful. He's lovely but also battle scarred. As a hero he's pretty much got it all going on although at times he can be quite harsh.Daisy was likeable and I really felt for her at times. I liked watching her shed her 'ugly duckling' persona and be one the bombshell swan that was simmering under the surface. The bad guys in this book were very shallow. I maybe would have liked a bit more to them- they seemed a tad one dimensional to me.Overall an enjoyable read with a loyal H/h. Some hot stuff and interesting secondary characters such as the sisters and Spencer. I would read the next book in the series.

Good writing that made a predictable plot fun to readđ
This is my first book by this particular author. It was a light read but I enjoyed it. I will be getting the next book as I'm curious on how things turn out for the secondary characters. While the characters were predictable, the difference was the author was able to create a connection that had the necessary emotive pull for a good romance đShe didn't depend on creating the strangest sex scenes or using excessive foul language to keep readers hooked. I'm grateful for this. The last few books were so horribly written, that I was getting tired at the number of juvenile authors being publishedđ

Loved it
Wasm't so sure in the beginning when Mason was just as critical about her looks as everyone else, although his were mere thoughts but still left me feeling disconnected with the character. However he grew on me and I loved the character development of them both.It was lovely seeing a South African writer recommended to me by Amazon, it never happens. Though I was quite surprised of the usage of miles instead of the metric system as that is what we actually use. But nonetheless, lovely story.

Good read
Daisy was the short ordinary one of the three sisters and had got fed up being the butt of everyone's remarks. She meets mason, the brother of Seymour who has been trying to get a date with Daisy's sister. Why would Mason make a point of coming over to talk to her, but nevertheless she soon finds out why.

A delightful romance with a slow build but the getting to know each other part of the story was a good read and funny in parts
Well worth the wait. A delightful romance with a slow build but the getting to know each other part of the story was a good read and funny in parts.I won't ever see someone performing the chicken dance without thinking of this book and the couple.
