It has worked really well on some Phillips/JIS bolts on a Honda Trail motorcycle that I am restoring. The tool does seem to slip out of its direction randomly, so I typically check the direction after one or two hits. But one or two hits is all it takes to break a bolt loose without camming out the Phillips head bolt. This tool is essential for this work. What is not in the description is that you can extend the reach with standard 1/2" socket extensions.

I use this impact screwdriver to remove the lower unit drain plug on my Yamaha outboard engine. It is sturdy and does the trick in one strike of the hammer. I'm wondering why it took me so long to get one!

Used this to remove the screws of rotors, but couldn't remove them. The philip bits broke off, all 3 of them that were in there. These bits are really low quality and not worth the money, at least to remove rotor screws which can sometimes get really rusty and stuck.

Potential for a 4-5 star item, the tool itself is virtually flawless. I say virtually because just a bit of thick lubricant inside and it would’ve been perfect. Now for the reason I gave it 3 stars the first is no manual or simple diagram of how to change the direction of the tool, it took me a few minutes of fumbling and while not as difficult as a Rubics Cube I could see some less capable users really struggling. FYI if you firmly grip the forward portion and the back with each hand and twist you will see a large roller pin in the handle move from L to R position. Not intuitive but simple and functional. The second star ⭐️ marked off was because the bit is shot after 4 screws, it did the job, but I would expect a better performance than one use for the cost of this kit.All that being said this saved my brake job and Honda and Acura need to stop leaving these assembly screws in the rotors if they care at all about their users sanity. One good whack with a 3lb mallet on each screw head and they all freed up. My 600lb impact driver couldn’t even free these screws even in combination with a propane torch! This will forever be in my tool box, though I need a new #3 phillips bit now sad but true.

You really don't need this tool, until you do. With the availability of electric impacts, you may never need one, until you do. Inexpensive and indispensable. Get one.
