Good product: still working well after 7 years (review updated 2022)
I chose the smallest size, because it's for my kitchen, not the local butchers or bakery. It arrived very quickly (the next day), well packaged and in good condition.Fitting (and modifications!): I have a power socket high up on my kitchen wall, about 1 metre from where I wanted to fit the unit, but after coiling the power lead neatly around the wall, (I wasn't willing to stretch it straight to the socket like a washing line) it was still about 30cm too short. We know that permanently-placed electrical appliances should not be on extension leads, so I persuaded my electrician friend to fit a longer cable - free of charge, bless him.He took the opportunity to change the colour of the cable to white (it's less noticeable on my wall) and to make it come out of the other side of the unit by swapping the two "sides" over (they are identical except for the cable exit, and the other side is better for me). I should add that this is NOT recommended for anyone who is not an electrician - he had to take the whole thing apart and reassemble it; ensuring the wiring was safely contained (hazard-free) and I have obviously invalidated my warranty. Hmmmmm. Why didn't I just send it back, I hear you say? I didn't want to return it - I actually like it - it is a good size, it looks neat, and it works - even now (quick trial in midwinter), it has already managed to catch a few bugs. I've attached a photo of it, apologies for the quality, but it was hard to get the light levels right when photographing fluorescent tubes. So yes, I like it. Just as well, because I can't send it back now.UPDATE: (March 2017)The issue of the cable length has also been discussed in the top review by A Ridley - scroll up for more info.Looking at the more recent reviews, it would appear that the cable has now been lengthened. Also, after 2 years of successful use, I've finally changed the tubes for the first time. The manufacturer suggests doing this every 12 months, but I've used it for the last 2 years (Spring/Summer - all day, every day) with excellent results.I suppose 2 half years equates to one full year?Anyway, it was working well when I switched it off last October, but I thought I might be pushing my luck a bit to try to squeeze another season out of it. It's now ready to switch on again when the insects reapppear.2ND UPDATE: (Sept 2022)7 years on, 3 tube changes, and it’s working as well as the day I bought it. I’ve just switched it off for the winter, as the insects appear to have declined, but there was a good haul this year.To be honest, if it broke down tomorrow, I couldn’t complain - 7 years is pretty good value, and it’s still going strong. Well done.

The device is happily zapping away upstairs in our loft.
have fitted this device in our loft space which is in the middle of renovation and has seen a cluster fly issue even as late as end of October. It works as expected.I leave it on over night and can hear the device zapping the flies which are attracted by the UV light. In the morning the removable tray is full of fly corpses as well as other insects I didn't even know I had.The unit comes with a chain so it can be hung up, or two mounting holes at the rear, so it can be hung with one face on the wall. For the moment I have just left it on the window sill, since that's where the cluster flies we have generally congregate and hang out.If there's one issue with this device, I would say the electric plug lead is on the short side. It's no longer than around 60cm, which makes placement without extension leads a bit of a problem. The manufacturers should/could supply a longer lead perhaps, straight out of the box - otherwise the device is happily zapping away upstairs in our loft.

A Fly and Insect Zapper That Really Works!
Our conservatory is regularly plagued with flies, wasps and a variety of insects especially during the summer months due to its location in our garden and after trying many different types of products, fly insecticides, sticky tapes, window stickers et cetera in recent years none of which worked well at all we decided to research alternatives and found the Flymatic Professional Insect Fly Killer! From the moment it was switched on it started to do the job the product overview on Amazon described, it works perfectly and immediately, not a single fly or insect that has entered the conservatory has lived to tell the tale! I would highly recommend this specific product as it really does do the job and we are delighted to be able to sit and enjoy our conservatory now (where my wife and I eat in the summer months, read, watch TV and also entertain friends and family when the weather allows as the doors open out into the garden itself) which is now a fly/insect free zone so much so that flies/insects that enter the house from elsewhere e.g. into the kitchen are drawn to the product, so it's reach is not confined to where it's located. The product was delivered on the stated date and although the courier driver who delivered it could have been a little more customer friendly at the door, we are 100% satisfied with our decision to purchase this product. If you have a problem with flies/insects anywhere in your house or conservatory this is the product to solve the problem quickly and permanently.

Satisfyingly effective
A big thumbs up. We had noticed that we were sharing the house with increasing numbers of moths and I decided it was time for all-out war. I got the sticky sheets that attract the male moths which I have put all around the house (they are fantastic). I got this to zap the females. I figured that I could move it around until I felt we had got the house back to ourselves and then use on an ad-hoc basis. It seems to be working brilliantly. We often hear the telltale BZZZT noise and this is followed by a faint smell of burning (if you walk past). We leave it on overnight and you can see the debris in the morning, so you can tell it is doing its job. I am not sure I would want to risk leaving it on if we were not in the house, just in case. This is a really quite large machine and it is definitely not a feature, so make sure you have space to store it before you buy one this size. The upside for us is that it isn't just moths that are fried, but wasps, flies and midges (did I mention we live in Scotland?!). I should warn you that the blue light it gives out is very bright and not particularly pleasant. Our cat doesn't approve at all and keeps well away from it.
