I bought this to use with a Lodge cast-iron skillet (bought from amazon.co.uk, too)... It remained in a closet for a few months (waiting for the skillet to be used first) and then... voila! Its true purpose was revealed: My old Insinkerator (waste-disposal machine, bought from this, very amazon) was giving up the ghost. But before it did, finally burst (it was actually the capacitor which blew) with a little smoke, it tormented me by letting out, in unexpected times/moments, electrical surges. The surges would be felt upon touching the kitchen tap (faucet). No electrician was able to find the source of the surges and so, until the Insinkerator's capacitor had its one and final burst, from the fear of electrocution, we abandoned the kitchen faucet and kept using the bath tap instead. Which we weren't sure, whether it was safe to use. Until the Insinkerator-damade revealed itself, we would suspect anything. So we put this thing as a cover on the bath tap, rather as an insulator, and it fit wonderfully (I should post a pic). Finally: Problem solved (Insinkerater disposed), the silicon-item remain on the bath-tap. I think of buying another for the skillet... :-D

Hot handle holder for cast iron pans. Does the job reasonably well but some of the heat does get through. A bit on the pricey side for what it is. Delivery within expected time span.

I still use an oven mitt as it still gets hot but just helps when you forgot and accidently grab the handle with no mitt. Fits well on the 10” skillet. Been taking it off before putting the pan in the oven not really sure if i need to though?

Bought this after seeing another user comment that it fits well on the 10" skillet - sadly this is not the case, the holder is indeed too small.

Fits a cast iron Lodge and does its job well. That's all there is and that's pretty what I wanted

It slips on nicely to pan, tried using the pan without the silicone handle, it got very hot!! You do need another heat proof pad to lift the pan though.

does the job...cant stop the heat totally but atleast better that holding the hot iron handle!
