How many amps does the light draw?

When activated the unit draws 3.5 watts and this equates to 0.0152 amps but to put it more simply, you pay for energy by the kilowatt hour (kWh) so 1000watts per hour is 4.348 amps consumed. So 3.5watts would take 285.7 hours to use 1 kWh. As you pay for your energy by the kWh if you paid 15p per kWh it would cost you 15p per 285.7 hours constant use. A 70watt fluorescent tube would run for 14.3 hours for the same cost, so you can run this unit a minimum of 20 times longer for the same cost. I have measured the lux output of this unit and a 70w tube from 1 metre and they both emit 350 lux, hence the comparison. To conclude, this unit emits the same amount of light as a 6ft 70w tube for 20 times less cost and, as it runs off a sensor, turns off automatically when not required and thus your savings are even greater. Don't think about it, just buy one! They are brilliant in every sense of the word.

I want it to stay on all night, can I get it do stay on or will it only come on when motion is detected?

Only comes on when motion is detected. Is quite bright when does come on.

can you control the 5 metre sensor so it doesnt activate each time you turn over in bed?

I put it under the bed, so that when the motion sensor picks up footsteps getting out of bed or coming into the room, it comes on.
