The Sewing Machine Accessory Bible

Info that I've not seen all together in one sewing book before...LOADS of info!!
This book is packed full of detailed info. Subjects that you might only ever see a couple of lines written about in general sewing books, this book is much more detailed. Each foot in the book has between 2 - 4 page sides written about it. Inc what it looks like (great for IDing unknown feet in your stash), how to use, and an ideas file. And LOTS of clear photos. I have many sewing bible type books that have all the detailed sewing techniques, projects etc. But this book is different, as it just concentrates on the sewing machine & accessories, so is able to go into much more detail. I have just bought a huge set of universal presser feet from Amazon, so this book was a must have to understand what they each do and how to use them. But I would recommend this book to anyone who uses a sewing machine, you don't have to have 10s of feet! It has become an essential reference book for me. Includes detailed info on different needles and threads, types of fabric, and obviously different presser feet. A great book. Just wish I had discovered it years ago!

Really useful book
Most of us have several different feet for our sewing machines and probably just use two or three. My latest sewing machine has 15 and I was feeling overwhelmed and no idea how to use most of them. So I invested in this book and it is now one of my go-to sewing manuals. The early pages take you through sewing machines and the types of shanks and feet. There are then three sections dealing with groups of feet. Each double page spread deals with a single foot with photographs of the foot from different manufacturers, photographs and explanations of what the foot is used for, how to use the foot and other things you can use the foot for.All the explanations are demonstrated with close up photographs and, where necessary, broken down into sections. The whole book is beautifully presented in full colour. Highly recommended if you want to get the most out of your sewing machine.

A must have!
I have been sewing for myself all my life, over fifty years and I find this book a must have for any home sewer, from beginner to the more experienced. The book is easy to read, is well illustrated and is very detailed without going into to much detail or complicated jargon. There is a lot I still forget or have never learned despite having made countless outfits over the years and I consider this book well worth keeping by my machine, money well spent!

A comprehensive guide for things you never knew existed - and now can't wait to get your hands on!
If you are new to sewing machines or (like me) have used one for years but have never gone beyond using the feet supplied with your machine - and then not all of them, then this book is really worth investing in. It's a comprehensive review of many of the feet which, when added to your machine, will allow you to do all kinds of clever stuff. The authors have tried to be as generic as possible and include Janome; Husqvarna and Brother accessories.Don't let this put you off if you do not have these brands of machine, I bought this book for two of my daughters (sewing machine novices), one has a Toyota and the other has a Silver and both have found it informative and useful as they never knew such feet existed.Other topics include: Anatomy of a sewing machine (basic kit); basic feet - the ones which tend to come with your machine; speciality fabric and technique feet; pretty edges; fancy stitching and, to round it all off, a buyers guide if you are thinking of buying a new machine. This covers basic machines and also top end machines and overlockers. There is also a trouble shooting guide and glossary of terms.Reader, I commend this book to the house.

Great!
This contains most of the presser feet you can find and how to use them. Very well set out with lots of information. Good to buy before you spend money a foot you might not use. I took one star off as, for the money, I would have liked a bit more content.

Excellent, superb, highly recommend this for all sewers, new or seasoned!
This is an excellent, well written, photographically superb book. I have been sewing for years and recently found this book. Modern materials need modern techniques. This book is wonderful for getting the best out of your machine and your material. From different types of feet, to needles and thread for different materials. Right up to stitch widths and tensions for the aforementioned. I can use my bautiful stash of materials, from heavily embroidered to stretch and fleece with no problems. No more machine eating stretchy, no more missed stitches from jumping over heavily embroidered or Denim seams. Sequined material, no problem. Needle sizes no problem and so on, I love this book the money it cost? I would have paid treble for this lovely book. Have reccomended it to four other other people who have also bought it. Showed it to a lovely young lady just starting out, who really loved it, so obtained one for her. This will be one of 'your treasures' a turn to book for years to come. Needed this one 40 yrs ago! Do you know a sewer? A superb Xmas or birthday present for them. Buy it and you won't regret it.

If you sew you need this book.
Good clear instructions on sewing techniques and most of the machine parts and different foot attachments available. To be honest I've always been a "1 foot does everything" kind of gal, using the universal foot which comes with the sewing machine for everything from re-upholstery to my daughters wedding dress. Now I'm busy making masks, available locally free of charge to anyone who needs one, 130+ so far, and I realised it would speed up production if I learned how to use a hemming foot (bought a set off here, review on here too) The instructions and explanations are clear, there's very little jargon and plenty of illustrations. Recommended reading for all sewing enthusiasts, even those like me, who've been sewing for 50+years.

Should be included as an essential kit with every sewing machine
Its an excellent book to know what all the various presser feet do and where all they can be applied to.there are more than 25 presser feet, available in a box from China on most e-comm sites, apart from a few that comes with every modern sewing machine. There are tutorials on you tube, however, having their functions and applications in front of you in a book can make matters extremely easy while sewing. It clears away any doubts on the spot, and Im sure having the book allows a sewer to retain the information about which foot is what longer.Im extremely glad to have found this book in India.

molto utile
