Q: Can it be used to paint a plastic lego toy box? could i apply it directly, without a primer? does it spray well, or does it easily drip and splatter?

I would think that it would work on a plastic box but I would use a primer first as it's an object that is going to get knocked around a fair bit. It sprays well (I used it in a well ventilated garage) but spray lightly and build up a couple of of good coats.

Q: Can it be used on light switches and sockets

I used it on wood but have used it before on plastic and worked ok

Q: Does this work on kitchen cuboards?

Works on anything so kitchen cupboards shouldn't be a problem
