10 Metre DC Power Extension Cable with 1.3mm/3.5mm Male Female Jack - Suitable for 8V Cameras

Wanted a permanent power supply to my Ring Stick-up outdoor (battery) camera. This is great. Good length of cable, so long enough to run from an indoor power supply to outside. The camera thinks the battery is being charged by a solar panel but it's a 5V 2.5A Power Supply that I bought on Amazon for £12.98, the cable for which was not long enough to run outside. This extension cable does the job and then some. Very pleased. Frustratingly, the delivery took a week but that's the fault of the Royal Fail. It'd be good if the supplier used a different courier.

This DC power extension lead was purchased for use with a Philips digital photo frame, so a bit of a gamble as this is clearly not its intended purpose. However the full description of the connectors was very helpful in deciding that it would do the job. The plug is a straight type, rather than the 90degree plug of the Philips PSU, but despite its longer length it just fits the frame OK. I am pleased to have found this product and for a good price.

Using this with Ring camera and a 3A / 5v power supply. The main reason is the stupid Ring power supply cables are very thick and cannot be out through a sensible hole in a wall. The flip side with these being much smaller cable thickness, I suspect there is a voltage drop. Another reviewer mentioned a similar scenario - the Ring camera thinks it has a solar panel attached - which means you can’t really change it to wired mode. Well you can, but your mileage may vary. I just switched one to wired mode - it complains but seems to charge (although it does run down the %). If it’s in battery mode the camera is much happier. It cycles from 80% to 100% and back down. The downside is battery mode has performance limitations (like detection area etc). So I’m debating now whether to try a variable power supply and try 6V or 7V. I swapped another Ring stick up camera to wired mode - same cable and same PSU and it complains all the time that it’s not charging and to switch back to battery mode. However it does seem to run down a lot more slowly so it’s putting some charge into the battery, but the warning is disconcerting. Just annoying that Ring can’t sell a single piece PSU without the chunky connector block…

This wire is very useful and easy to use it’s got plenty of length and is great for an ip cam with this kind of connection it’s 5 metres (16ft) so good to extend the tiny wires that come with most ip cams also if you need to have more length you can just add more and more good price and fast delivery too I’m very pleased overall

I wasn't bothered that the plugs fitted were the wrong size for my door video intercom since I needed one end to be bare wired and, because the original charger unit failed very quickly, I swapped it for an old but unused Nokia phone charger and joined it to this cable with telephone cable joiners. It may look a little bit primitive but this cable seems to be of god quality and it works perfectly.

Previously I have to join two cables to get the power to my bird box camera, with the problem of wet getting into the connections, but this does the job without any outside joins. In fact it would have gone much farther than I required. An excellent buy and essential if your camera is some distance from the power supply.

I have one of these extending a battery connection from the nest box with the camera in. The cable wraps around branches in a hedge hidden from the likely path of any hedge cutting sessions in the future. The cable seems to be working well. I have bound all the connectors with waterproof self bonding electrical tape to stop them comming apart. The cable was in place while we had some of the worst winter storms for over 50 years. And it is all working well.

Il cavo e troppo sottile per la lunghezza che ha. Io dovevo alimentare una telecamera ma collegato il filo non funzionava. O il filo è guasto o non ce la fa a portare la corrente sufficientemente. Non ho perso nemmeno il tempo a restituirlo.

Las clavijas encajan con las de la cámara IP wanscam hw0045 pero la cámara es de 12v y el cable de extensión es de 8v.
